Historically, which RU de-commits and transfers went on to have the best careers?

Just wondering.

Tom Savage comes to mind, obviously.

Also, which big recruits were closest to coming to attend RU?

Only one I hear about now is Myles Shuler at Northwestern. There were a bunch of guys who followed the coach to Rhode Island or wherever it was he became HC.

Brooks sounded sorry he left in one interview. He was a good guy. Probably should have gone to defense (he was #2 LB in Maryland - Fedge was #1 lol). Had good size/speed but kinda tip-toed at the line the way Ron Dayne did with the Giants. Never forget when his dreadlock got yanked off and was laying on the field

David Njoku a 2013 decomit , became Miami's starting TE halfthru his RS freshman year this year, and did very well. The Bowl announcers were very impressed. Now 6'4 240, was at about 215 coming out of HS. High Jumped 7 ft. without much training.

Which of the DL who went to Florida admitted he was a silent commit after the fact, Sharif Floyd or Dominique Easley?

How many ways can people on this board torture themselves? Lol.

I honestly give little thought to those who have left or not signed here. It all starts to blend together.

LOVE Shuler (mostly the intangibles he brought) - but one that got away????? If this is our 'what if' then our program is in pretty good shape in that dept. Nothing against Shuler, but he is just one of a plethora of HS players whose talent just never transitioned at the college level.

Why don't you try to look at the positives? How about the decomitts or transfers that came to Rutgers and had a great impact. Like a Ray Rice. And the great impact Rettig will have on this coming season!!

I guess I should have been more direct in calling the OP a troll.

Jeez, well i am not a troll at all.

it's a message board and I think this makes for an interesting topic, especially considering how many people wax poetic about transfers and being outrecruited.......people who are externally motivated to a fault.

Look at this thread - in the end, most people can't even remember who left RU and did anything, or almost chose RU.

I like the idea of looking back in both directions.

Hodges and Skai Moore are the biggest that had a full career. Obviously Barkley could sting the most since we lost him AND have to play him every year.

In the other direction both Rice and Courtney Greene were Cuse commits, right? Also, Kenny Britt was a one-time Illinois commit if I remember correctly. Can't remember many transfers making a big impact, other than our recent luck with the 5th-year transfers (Turzilli, Dill).
