How many of our offensive players would START on another BigTen team??

Stupid thread. Been discussed to death. Let it go already.

Which Big Ten team? Purdue or Ohio State. it makes a big difference.

Starting for sure would be Martin, Grant, and Cole.
Harris and Seymour have huge upside potential IMO and will be major contributors in 2017.
Grant and Harris would not start at WR in a 3 wide set, although I agree Harris has potential and Grant would get touches in certain packages.

Martin and Cole could start on several B1G teams but not on those at the top end of the standings.

Seymour does have plenty of upside but would not start this year on any B1G team unless due to multiple injuries. He was playing DL to start the year for crying out loud!

Shows also that the offensive staff has little to work with

BS.
Every B1G team has won at least one Conference game this year , except RU.
Even Purdue has one win and they fired their Coach. You think Purdue has had better recruiting recent classes than RU . No.

The only guy that would start on most teams would be Grant as a return man not a WR.
Grant was pretty dynamic in the slot. Most teams would find a way to get the ball in his hands. He probably starts for most teams.

Let me preface this by saying I love Grant and I really hope he comes back next season. But let's be real: he had 210 yards receiving, 0 TDs in 3.5 games this season at WR plus another 138 yards rushing although most of those yards came against Howard. He was our best option at WR until he was injured but I don't see him starting on any competitive B1G teams. Coaches on other teams might try to get him a few plays in space to see what he could do but his real value is on special teams.

Kind of a weird thread. I could say the same thing about PSU when comparing to OSU or UM. I'm sure Barkley and at least one other player could but it isn't like there would be five or six.

I don't know enough about your OL but I would guess you might have a guy from that squad who could start at PSU. Maybe not though.

He also threw a TD pass. He didn't run great routes but he was unbelievable in space. I mean what were the stats of our other receivers at that point? The play he got injured on just showed what he was capable of.

Watching a game at the stadium or away games at home on TV, friends always comment at the unimpressiveness of our kickers. Did we have any kickoffs, when the wind was at our backs, that were unreturnable this year?

I think Grant is a starter at WR on any B1G team--he's too electric to keep off the field.

After that though I'm scratching my head.

I think there was one with wind at our backs. At least thats all I can recall. Kicking game needs a major upgrade, that goes without saying.

Well that explains why our coaches look so bad. We only have one player who would start on another B1G team.

Purdue has better talent

According to Rivals Rankings our last five classes have been much better than Purdue.
Actually better than Illlinois and Minnesota as well. Teams that beat us this year. Yeah, our Coaching is fine.
Class Rankings : 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
Rutgers : 24 , 52, 53, 61, 66
Purdue: 49, 65, 73, 69, 83
Illinois: 64, 57, 71, 58, 75
Minnesota: 59, 69, 67, 63, 46

Special teams were a disaster this year. Some of the guys I watched games with would laugh at the efforts of our kicker and punter.
And BTW our linebackers were also constantly ridiculed by the same guys. I think one guy pointed out quite a number of plays where the opponent didn't even have to worry about blocking #26. He would take himself right out of the play.

Going by results and on field not HS rankings

Exactly my point.
Other B1G programs achieving more success than RU with lower recruited talent.
Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota , and even Indiana .
Can't make statements that all B1G programs have more talent than RU. Far from the truth.

Rivals rankings aren't the best way to measure this kind of thing. A lot of RU's top ranked recruits on this team have been busts. The highest rated offensive player at RU out of high school has been a total disaster this year.

That would be Hicks right? He was a highly sought after running back.

What two deep in the B1G do our QBs or WRs (post Grant injury) make? Forget Rivals rankings, it is quite possible we had three position groups, QB, WR and LB, where not one player makes another B1G teams two deep.

That's the hole from which the new staff needs to extracate itself. Not easy.

How many of our coaching staff would be on other B1G coaching staff??

Nope I'm referring to an OL. Hicks only had a mid 3 star ranking which is another example of how these rivals rankings shouldn't be taken seriously. He had about 20 offers but rivals didn't even list them.

Correct. One or two of the rest (maybe Martin) could start on a Purdue or Illinois, but none of those 5 start on a top 5-6 B1G team and Grant only starts on specials.
