Need him healthy vs the pedd state. Seemed yo be pretty limited in second half. That missed layup should have been a dunk.

He is a tough warrior so expect him out there Wednesday but we really need him healthy.

That hyperextension did not look pleasant - I was a bit surprised that he was back in the game at all, but dude is tough as nails. Have to think he'll be dealing with swelling and pain management the next couple of days.

Looked like his shoe lost traction on the floor and slid out in front of him, then caught awkardly on the side of the sneaker. Don't know if there was any sweat or anything that hadn't been mopped up.

My sense was that if Pike could have held him out for the rest of the second half once we got up on them he would have. The foul trouble and them fouling Shaq Doorson down the stretch forced his hand. We will need others like Shaq Carter and Myles to play more minutes and stay out of foul trouble.

I think he is fine he had 4 fouls that’s why Pikell held him out so long!!

Eugene is so tough. Hopefully a day or two of rest and he will feel better with no swelling. He is such a determined guy. He leads by example.

I’m worried about the stability of the knee. I just think about rg3 wanting to play on an unstable knee in his rookie year and then the playoff game happened

I think the knee is stable by virtue of the injury being to the knee cap... that’s why he gets clearance to play.
It has to be incredibly painful though, that’s what separates this guy

Any chance he'll need surgery after the season to correct the knee cap issue?

He could probably get some type of surgery to clean out scar tissue on the ligaments/tendons to help tighten the joint up - but keeping the joint really strong also guards against slippage and creates stability. Neither of his knee injuries this year (the freak bend back on the rebound, and the slippery floor hyperextension) were likely a result of last year's injury - they just all happened to have been on the same joint.

I know EO wanted to be a nurse at one point.

I hope he gets his knee examined and does what is best for himself long term. Take as many games off as needed.

Young kid with a bright future. No need to risk it.

Our team has a certain identity on defense so Pike doesn't want to discourage or disrupt that philosophy. However, our bigs have to play smarter and maybe give up a basket or two early in the game.
The fouls are more important because we get hit with so many iffy type throughout the game. Many times our guys don't go straight up or leap toward a shooter and hit them. Need guys to be available for the whole game, especially post season.
