Some of you guys need to stop second guessing this staff. They have a formula that works well for this roster.
Hyatt will likely chip some minutes from Cam, Mag and Caleb in that order, not alot but those little bits add up
Problem is Hyatt is, he is do or die with his 2 seconds trigger. Def. not your starting type... Starter needs to be consistent...
He is a good fire power off the bench since when he is hot, he can be scoring we desperately need. If he is missing, sit his ass back on the bench again

In the two games with Iowa, we held Murray to slightly below his scoring average. You can't tell me that is not outstanding defense on that particular scorer. To consider not starting one of the best, if not the best, defender in Div. 1 is folly.
I'd say Hyatt would get some of the minutes of and Spencer and Simpson. I don't see him taking any of Mag's minutes.

I don’t think Mcconell should come off the bench but he shouldn’t be taking 3s. He went 1-16 in January. He needs to play to his strengths more and be physical and get to the line. Hes a good ft shooter

So if you're at least admitting that Caleb is a shut down defender...why would you not want him on the floor to start the game when the opponent literally has their best offensive player(s) on the floor?

I’m sure he’d probably agree that he hasn’t been shooting well from deep. That’s probably why he didn’t shoot any threes against Penn State and he only shot one against Iowa.
As long as Caleb brings the effort, he is without a doubt, a lock to be in the starting lineup. His defense and leadership is a stabilizing factor for the rest of the team, especially when you pair him with Paul. There is a reason why upperclassmen get the most minutes.
As for his offense, I feel like he is just way too uptight. I know he is capable of going off just as much as anyone, but whenever he has an open jumper, it seems like he’s short arming it. Like shooting an open shot when you know the game is on the line versus playing pickup ball with your best buds. Sometimes you just gotta be confident, own it, have fun with it, fake it till you make it and let muscle memory take over. In his earlier years and in the Dayton game, he was just freer on offense and therefore, it seems, had more buckets. He’ll find his shot. I’m not worried about it.

The season is over and I have moved on and getting excited about next year with Baye and Gavin and whoever Pike picks up in the portal. Watching the elite eight , we definitely would have had problems keeping up with any of them But next year we move closer to a team who on offense and defense can be competitive with some of the top teams. And if 2024 recruiting pans out , we will be at the doorstep. Thanks to the team, coaches and fans for making this past year interesting including the ups and downs. On to football were with moderate improvement, we can get to 6 wins. Looking forward to seeing everyone over on the football and other sports boards.
