No way Flood survives this. There are too many signs that he has lost control of his team. It's nice that he had a reputation as a super nice guy, but at some point he needed to be a disciplinarian.

Lol. The drama on this board amazes me. 4 of the 5 arrests were for a fight with another student. That happens all the time. Let it play out first, then make an assessment.

When was the last time a coach got fired because a player committed a crime. I can't wait to take the weekend off from this board

Getting that feeling as well, and I'm a huge Flood guy. Telling to me that Julie made the statement about the suspensions and not the head coach.

Just my gut though. Ughh.

5 posts in and no mention of he-who-shall-not-be-named..?

We're slacking... tsk, tsk...

These events happened in April and May. How can you say that Flood has lost control of the team now?

A coach cannot, and should not, be responsible for what these young men do 24/7/365. The best anyone can do is to teach teach teach but at the end of the day each player is responsible for their actions.

not exactly.....

Omg some of our fanbase need to stop with dramatics...coaches are not fired over this

At Rutgers they've been fired for much less. This, plus the investigation and other off-field incidents throughout the past few years....can definitely see it happen.

If in fact KF was told not to contact any professors and now this, he is in big trouble. He would have survived either one by itself, but combined this could be the end. Remember Julie did not want to keep him to begin with.

Let it all play out? They investigated this since April. They are charged with several crimes including robbery, and armed robbery with a weapon. What is there to play out?

Well only Boggs and Tejay are getting the armed robbery rap as far as I can tell.

The rest I could see pleading down to a misdemeanor for the brawl or whatever.

But who cares? Bye.

Flood simply carried Schaino's torch: recruiting criminals and finding ways to lose were pillars of the Schiano era.

He should be fired. He was a marginal coach to begin with, now this crap? Get rid of him before Friday.

Forget it.

Got lost in the shuffle of posts.

Thank you. I never understood why some posters -a lot, really - thought our program was above and beyond these problems. Or why the program should be so responsible. Always thought it was downright stupid to look down on other programs for arrests, except in clear cases of zero discipline or looking the other way.

These are young, stupid college kids, many with rough backgrounds. Would have been nice if it happened in any way but this, but it is not shocking that it happened.

And unless Flood was guilty of aiding and abetting I really don't see why anyone is calling for him to be fired.

Should be a wonderful news cycle for the start of our season, though.

Don't firgey Darien Dailey. See a pattern yet?
At least if we recruit thugs, can't they at least be studs on the field?

Ironically, I was just speaking with a colleague this morning, saying how my enjoyment of college football is catching up with the NFL; because the NFL is full of thugs and "certain college teams, like Rutgers, have high character guys and are more fun to root for". I'm going to avoid that colleague for the next few hours.

Seriously do you know how many coaches would be out of jobs if this called for a firing? Is Flood supposed to monitor the activity of 80 + students every weekend of the year?

With that said this is Rutgers so they probably will can him.

I don't think you've got the facts right. I would let it play out a little further.
