I hope that I will be able to see Rutgers win the Big 10 before I die. Maybe my kids or grandkids will see Rutgers win the National Championship and will write a memorial for me, like the Cubs fans did.
I'm 28 years old. My oldest child is -5 years old, and my oldest grandchild is -35 years old.

No problem. Now that money will no longer be a problem we'll win it at least once within 20-25 years. We've been pretty good for a bit in the Big East and I've seen every B1G team suck (except for OSU) in the last 20 years. Just have to wait our turn and see how the fates line up.

Well, since I'm a member of the class of '70, my chances are not so good. Maybe when I'm sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch of a nursing home I'll be able to understand and appreciate our national championship.

We were a better team than PSU just two years ago and now they have a good shot to win it, shows how quick it can happen with good recruits and coaches

They better win soon. My liver can't take all the alcohol needed to flush these games from my system.

It's kills me that we didn't win the old Big East when we had it in our hands twice
I know, right?

We were almost there, had it in our hands. And then it's like we got greedy and kept putting it off, putting it off... and then BOOM, the wife walks in and the whole damn thing falls apart.

Yep, just like that. :)

with UM, PSU, MSU, and OSU in the same division? You would have to have 2 teams on sanctions.. and then still beat a team from the West like Nebraska or Wisky... I don't see it happening. I think finishing 3rd in the Big East would be a major accomplishment..

Don't say it can't happen. PSU is playing for a chance to go to the B1G championship game on the last weekend this year when no one gave them any type of chance to win it and probably have no business being there this year. Sometimes the breaks of the game and year go your way. And this is not to take away from the year they are having. I've seen Northwestern win the B1G before after they were truly awful just a few short years before that. We are talking about a one time chance. Not that RU will be better annually than those teams.

There's hope and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Every team has had their day in the sun including Indiana and Northwestern

28 yrs old and hoping you live long enough to see us win The B1G Championship? I am thinking the same thing at the age of 63. :weary:
Yes, I'll probably never see it in my lifetime. And my -5 year old kid who isn't even a sperm cell yet probably won't either.

Yes. And the other year we should have won the League outright I was in Pittsburgh when we could have won it. Boy did we look flat that day.
The one bright spot was a true Freshman RB was given his first carries at the end of that game. And did he look good. His name was Paul James.

Am I the only one who saw the 100 year old Cubs fans and imagined themselves at 100 watching RU win its first national title in a nursing home? :(

Hang in there RURahRah. To make you feel a little bit better I went back a ways to 1981 and here are teams (other than Ohio State & Michigan) that either won the Big Ten Conference outright or shared a Big Ten Title.

Iowa
1981- Iowa/Ohio State
1985- Iowa
1990- Iowa/Illinois/Michigan/Michigan State
2002- Iowa/Ohio State
2004- Iowa/Michigan

Northwestern
1995- Northwestern
1996- Northwestern/Ohio State
2000- Northwestern/Purdue/Michigan

Illinois
1983- Illinois
1990- Illinois/Iowa/Michigan/Michigan State
2001- Illinois

Penn State
2005- Penn State/Ohio State
2008- Penn State/Ohio State

Wisconsin
1993- Wisconsin/Ohio State
1998- Wisconsin/Ohio State/ Michigan
1999- Wisconsin
2010- Wisconsin/Michigan State
2011- Wisconsin
2012- Wisconsin

Michigan State
1987- Michigan State
1990- Michigan State/Michigan
2010- Michigan State/Wisconsin
2013- Michigan State
2015- Michigan State

So there is a chance RahRah!

Agreed...BRING it on....

Just 16 years ago Purdue won the Big Ten. So the bad now we're once good. MSU went from winning it 1 year ago to having the same record as us with 3 games left on the schedule. Anything can happen.
