The game will eventually settle down and MSU will grind out a win, but with Caroo coming back I think it could kind of rejuvenate the troops.

This is our secondary's first game since 5th year senior starter RJ Williamson tore his bicep last game. I think we could be vulnerable over the top for a few big plays.

I'd expect your gameplan will be to test us over the top early and often because grinding out sustained drives will be tough against us.

How is your pas pro btw?

Pass pro has been decent. Struggled against PSU though. Our QB has decent wheels and can elude a bit.

Ive seen MSU in 2 games. Solid but not amazing. We are rested.....maybe Caroo is back. Might be a closer game than most think(that is my hope)

I expect the OL to play better than they did vs PSU for two reasons. 1. I expect improvement week over week as they continue to gel and 2. We are at home so the noise won't be a factor and we shouldn't be false starting all night and putting ourselves in bad down and distance scenarios. That said I agree with the OP in that it will be hard to sustain drives vs this D. Last year we missed several throws over the top which would have been TDs and maybe loosened their D up a bit. Need to hit one or two of those tomorrow to even stay in the game.

Playcalling was the biggest issue vs PSU. If MSU can line up and run-blitz the whole game without paying a price it will be more ugly than the pSU game.. and at home.

Some smart poster said it.. if we are going with Laviano and he wants to dink and dunk (and he can hitting over 70% and those NOT being behind the LOS passes) then we have to throw on 1st down and throw when taking the snap under center. Let the pass set up the run. And I'd like to see some over the top throws to guys in single coverage.. Laviano cannot seem to find those opportunities and I'd love to see Rettig get a real shot.

- agree, we need to go deep down the middle, early and often, BUT we've already heard that the "mantra" of "run, run, run first," will be the game plan, as usual, and we tend not to fool anyone

- re: the OL "should get better each game" well, sorry, but did they really "get better" from PSU to Kansas? Hard to tell IMHO as bad as KU is/was.

Penn State always has and probably always will "have our number". Mich State we are 3-3 lifetime against. There is more "positve universe" energy against Mich State than Penn State. Just saying.

Have you guys forgotten how stubborn this coaching staff is? RU will run the ball first and foremost. Then they will run the ball more. If Laviano gets injured they will call 10 timeouts until the X Rays come back and the Doctors clear him, before we see the other guy.

I have no complaints about us running the ball. We should.
We just need to take a shot downfield now and then to help open up the running lanes.

BTW - I damn well HOPE we "come out and play inspired football." I expect nothing less, to be honest, for a home game, at 2-2, against the nation's #4 team. Anything less - emotionally - would be downright embarrassing IMHO.

That is the understatement of the week. Imagine, being on death row your college football season gone. But then you are set free to not only rejoin with your football family but to be cleared to play in the next game! against Michigan State with your football family in front of all the other Scarlet Knights, us, up in the stands. "I Believe That We Can Win!" "I Believe That We Can Win!"

You will see more of this.

Carroo caught three passes each one for a touch down:

I could catch 3 passes against NFSU. Maybe not all TD's, and I'd probably tear a hammy, but I still think I'd catch 3 passes! :cool2:

..on a serious note did anyone ever find out if this has ever happened before? 3 times thrown to, 3 catches, 3 TD's?

What lot are you in tomorrow? I'm bringing a football. I don't put much zip on the ball, and I throw floaters. You up for the challenge?

Black Lot, on the grass between lot and Bartholemew Road (hopefully), with lots of protein on the grill!

black lot? up your donations

We have 25 tickets and 6 parking passes. Mind your own business. Oh, and the family passes are in Scarlet, so again, mind your own business.

Yet again you add nothing to a conversation while, as usual, putting down another poster. How you're not banned is mind-boggling.

Thanks Bro,I haven't
had a good Pretzel since I moved to FL.BUT,I am not counting on it.
I remember you asking about them in another thread. They are very good. Large and soft, with lots of salt. It might not be hot when it arrives in Florida, unless you leave it in your mailbox in the sun.

I love the fact that a gentlemen 80+ years young, IIRC, uses the term "bro" as he posts on his favorite message board! It give me hope!
