This is what we need to do:

  • Win 1 of 3 Difficult Games
    • Ohio State
    • Penn State
    • Oregon
  • Win 5 of 5 50/50 Games
    • Iowa
    • Illinois
    • Minnesota
    • Maryland
    • Washington
  • Win all “Should Win” Games
    • Ohio
    • Miami of Ohio
    • Norfolk State
    • Purdue

Did I miss somerhing...is football going to a 64 team tournament ?

Bit seriously folks...while our offense improved significantly at the end of 2024 and while the D was rebuilt via the portal I think 8 wins is reasonable against this schedule

What does this post have to do with our prospects for 2025? While we’re probably not getting superstars from the bargain bin, as long as these kids give us competitive reps, we’ll be in good shape.
What do u consider good shape?

In his scenario- that 10-2 would most likely be a playoff team.
But it isn’t going to happen. I do think winning the 4 should win games will happen. 2 or 3 of the 50/50 games. I lean toward 3.
But those top 3…I do think we have a team that can pull it off but I just haven’t seen it with GS 2.0
So, I am doubtful- I see a 7-8 win regular season.

Iowa is the critical game. Beat Iowa and anything is possible. Need Athan to throw close to 60%.

Washington game in Washington is also a mystery. But it is at least a 50/50 as we beat them last year and I am not sure if they are much better or if we are much better than last year yet.
As for Athan- he needs to be 60% on the year. I will give him 57% if we continue to take a lot of deep throws but that means he has to be 60%+ on medium and short. We need KC to really be creative as well. Why is it that every other team in the world can do bubble screens and we haven't been able to for decades? lol

Washington is going to be especially tough. Will try to make it out there

Oregon at home feels like well maybe with their new qb etc we have a shot. Thats gonna be the GS signature win. One can hope

Everyone here would sign up for 8 wins. Highly unlikely. 7 wins against the easiest Big10 schedule in history. Next year no Monangai and a representative conf schedule

Generally one wouldn't associate "barging bin" players with the ability to make the playoffs as a Top 10 team in the country.

Perhaps that person was wrong and we're not shopping for "bargin bin" players if those "barging bin" players can help with a CFP appearance.

It doesn't seem like you can have it both ways.
  1. Our NIL and fans stink. We can't compete. We're shopping for bargin bin players.
  2. Our players are good enough to compete for a playoff spot as a Top 10 team

Sorry, but we realistically have to win most of our games out of the nine that do not have PSU,OSU and Oregon playing. We will be hard pressed to get into a bowl game.

Man it's crazy these coaches make million and basically they have to win 2 maybe 3 conference games to to have a winning record. GS has a winning record in September but get killed in October and November. Philosophy start of 4-0 they hold on, think we need to spread this non-conference games out

Last year you said Rutgers was a tight end away from being a national championship team. Now this year just a playoff team? What has you so pessimistic about the team?

The TE Al was talking about never came and the season was ruined.
But now Al feels a playoff spot is guaranteed with Colin Weber coming in .

We have been hit by graduation and our best player will be playing Sundays next year, among others.
