Listen, it's no big deal, she has brought Rutgers enough attention already, but it would be sweet. Maybe a combo of the town she started playing soccer, and Rutgers. We already know she was the best player in the world during the World Cup and that she's American, baby!!!

Anyone know if the parade is being televised? Channel?

Don't know but I'd expect someone to do it.

I posted this in the other parade thread but yesterday WFAN announced they're covering it. One of their promos pushed the Lloyd connection "Led by New Jersey's Carli Lloyd" and Rutgers with Glen Crooks being one of the 3 on air "hosts". The promo mentioned he coached Carli at RU. As many may know, Crooks was a reporter and hosted a sports show on WDHA in Randolph long before he coached at RU.

Locally in NYC it will also be live on FOX 5 in addition to Fox Sports 1 (which is national)

ABC, NBC, FOX SPORTS1, ESPN, PIX11, etc, seems like most are covering it.

It looks like it's going to go right by my building, will definitely go downstairs and check it out.

I heard there will be a good amount of Rutgers people heading to the parade today. Look out for a group of scarlet in the crowd!

RU ran a few buses for faculty, students, and employees.

Has anyone heard if RU is going to be making/selling those caRli Rutgers shirts in the upcoming future?

during the nbc broadcast, they mentioned that Nike is going to be starting to sell mens tshirts with the various women's #/info, so there's definitely a market for it.

Glenn Crooks, the RU women's soccer coach when Lloyd was a team member, was just on WFAN and said Lloyd's been contacted by approximately 200 brands and organizations. She's probably going to make $15-$18 million in endorsement deals over the next year or so. Cha-Ching!!!

Good for her, well deserved!

^^^this I want a few of those shirts
Can't believe a grown ass man would want to wear a shirt saying "Carli" on it...

^^^You are a first class a-hole. First off they are for my nieces that play soccer (that is why i want a "few" of them) not for me a$$wipe, and i will wear what ever i want to.

Carli Lloyd just happens to be the greatest athlete that Rutgers University has ever produced male or female. She has brought more fame and goodwill to Rutgers than any male athlete has. Years from now people will still talk about her performance in this world cup and the two preceding Olympics. She still has another Olympics games and one more World Cup; so she is not done yet.

She also did the right thing in giving the captains band to Abby Wambach further enshrining her in our nation's impression of her and its rubbing off on Rutgers to a great degree.

Every FAN of Rutgers should be proud to have Carli Lloyd associated with Rutgers University.

Amazing how 10 minutes can change your life......good for her.

Read her story way more than 10 min to get her to this place. years of work and she was basically kicked out of the starting lineup at one point.

I think more than once. I was reading her bio. She turns 32 or 33 next week. It's been a 20+ year journey with ups and downs including missing the PK in the Cup final in 2011. I read that she has practiced PK's every day since. It's now to the point where she tells the goalies in practice where's she's going to aim yet still beats them. Wambaugh said there's no one on the team you'd rather have take PK's.

She's the poster child for hard work and dedication paying off.

Loved those Brown NIKE shirts (not)[poop]:flush:[sick]

Obviously she has worked her whole life for this but if you don't think those 10 minutes changed her life you are crazy. You think she's getting 15 million in endorsements if she doesn't have that stretch?

$15 mill - I sure hope she gets close to that amount as she is in her 30's and has been working for peanuts.

I heard Jeff Van Gundy on a radio talk show state that he lives in Houston and said that he and his family have taken in 2 of Carli's Houston Dash teammates. Apparently, they make very little money so people in the community are asked to provide housing during the pro soccer season.

Not surprising. Pretty sure mist if the MLS makes pretty crappy money so you'd assume women make way less. I'd think endorsements is where it's at for them.

Seriously, how does somebody get that shirt ?
Second that. I want one for my 7 year old daughter who plays soccer. Also I have no problem wearing that shirt to one of our football games if Rutgers has a 'Carli' day. She earned and deserves the support she is given.
