RU will be in for an absolute shitstorm and we will never be able to shake that stigma/association. We will be the PSU of absuse/domestic violence.

We all better hope and pray that he was breaking up the fight or hit another man and people were exaggerating the details. If there is a video of him clocking a women, we might just want to close up shop. It will get UGLY. Worse than we've ever imagined.

Florida State's De'Andre Jordan punched a girl in the face at a nightclub while he was underage and clearly drinking. The incident was caught on tape. Is FSU associated with violence towards woman? No their associated with Jameis Winston, winning the national championship, and crab legs.

See the Ray Rice shitstorm. The two incidents will be compounded and shoved down our throats by the NJ/NYC media. It will get veryyyy ugly.

And possibly influencing the local PD to cover up a rape.

I won't call him a thug. But when we make mistakes we pay a penalty. He's no different

What is their story going to be? That Rutgers somehow condones and teaches their players to beat up women? We didn't cover up anything. Ray Rice was in the NFL when he did this. Aaron Hernandez killed a person. Is University of Florida associated with murder?

You just don't get it and are extremely naive. So RU didn't have any negative press due to the Ray Rice incident? Good one.

Add in Mike Rice physically and verbally abusing players, Cohen "bullying" players, and now Carroo possibly hitting a woman. Yeah, there is no way anyone could possibly make a connection with RU for having a culture of abuse. Whether it's true or not, it will 100% get printed and mentioned on National TV networks.

I understand this is fresh and you are emotional but you are blowing this way out of proportion. Ray Rice didn't happen on your watch. I understand he is associated with your program but he moved on long ago and his actions afterwards have nothing to do with Rutgers.

Mike Rice wasn't the worst example of his sort of behavior.

Ray Rice wasn't the worst example of his sort of behavior.

Dharun Ravi wasn't the worst example of his sort of behavior.

But Rutgers invariably winds up being the worst possible example of any behavior committed by its constituency. It's partially the curse of the NY media market and partially the ineptitude of the administration.

At the end of the day, every storm that blows through New Brunswick winds up being the Perfect Storm.

So in his assessment, the OP is NOT wrong.

Agreed. The majority of people who associate Ray Rice and his incident with Rutgers are Rutgers fans. Half of the people don't even know where he went to college, and if they do why exactly would they associate him with a school he went to years ago?

Rutgers fans seem to overestimate the amount of national attention we receive. When this type of thing goes national, people see it on ESPN one day and forget about it the next along with most other incidents like this. It's a sad thing but athletes getting arrested isn't exactly a rare occurrence.
