There's no reason we shouldn't if the need arises. Competition is healthy. Let's hope Laviano catches fire. If not then coach Wilson should pull trigger just like OSU just did and give Rettig the ball

I don't know if you can compare. JT brings another dimension to the game that Cardale doesn't with his excellent mobility. I can't say the games or Laviano/Rettig are all that different to justify shuffling them back and forth.

Rettig allows us to stretch the field. Laviano does not.
I'm not going to argue the better arm part but my point is they're both basically pocket guys for the most part. If you think Rettig's arm is better and he can manage the game as well, still then no need for shuffling then Rettig should be the one full stop.

I am just hoping that we don't see a repeat of last year's game. We definitely needed to get Nova out of that game as he was totally imploding. Our QB's may not show the level of difference but it doesn't mean changing up won't somehow change the outcome.

Miami brought in a more mobile QB when they made it to the redzone with the starter playing very well, lost yards on the read option and ended up kicking a FG.

After the way Flood handled Nova, I am not optimistic that the correct quarterback decisions will made. Have to assume he will leave Laviano in there regardless of how bad things get until it is too late.

Last year no - practice reports commented that Laviano was not ready for game speed play. This year, and when we had Dodd, absolutely.

I never understood why Barrett wasn't named the starter in the first place. He's a better fit for the offense they run. It's also easier to plug in different QBs with those types of offenses.
