If Rider out scores us with 4 guys I will lose my mind!

Rider outscored RU last year, as did Princeton. I doubt either will finish ahead of RU this year, but it's still mathematically possible for Rider , not so much for Princeton

Right now RU has a possible maximum points of 131, with 1 alive for the Gold (AA) and 4 alive in Consys
Rider has 2 alive for Gold, and 2 alive in Consys for a max points possible of 103.5.

IF AA loses tomorrow morning AND the 2 Rider kids win, they might overtake RU. But I doubt any of those 3 will happen ( I hope I didn't just jinx RU). RU also needs AP , Lewis , Smith and Gravina to keep on winning.

At this point I see RU coming in around 17-20 place. Rider around 25-27

Interesting - Although PSU leads , they have 6 still alive for Gold, and 2 for medals, Nebraska has 10 alive all together but only 5 for gold. They have more possible max points.

Nebraska is a very balanced team but PSU shows the power of having top end horses.

Does anyone know whether RU has ever finished in the top 20 before? I don't recall it happening, unless it was in the really old days.

Looks like a bunch of the RU guys have decided to join you for that cup of coffee, lol. No shame in losing to a superior wrestler, but not to score a single offensive point is awful. You have already claimed that Giraldo is done. Maybe you're correct.

I know I'm gonna punch myself in the face, but you are right about some things you say.Giraldo is spent.I wouldn't be surprised if he even stays with wrestling. He looks disinterested ( like some Bound Brook prodigy we know),and doesn't seem too care. There are plenty of people cutting weight that are successful. That's not the case with Giraldo..he's fried mentally!

Be pissed if you want, but Rider's kid Walsh just made it to the semis at 157 for the AA. Big time comeback vs. the South Dakota State kid.

The Rider kids older brother was the pinning machine ALL American Taylor Walsh from Indiana U

I don't think we offered Walsh, and he probably came to RU had we did. No other big schools knew he'd be that good (didn't win the NJ states, right?), so it's not on RU to not recognizing the diamond in the rough. You just cannot measure the size heart... Hope he does well.

If AP wins his blood round match he faces (12)Brennan from...Rider!

Perrotti can beat anybody or lose to anybody in the bracket. The way he wrestles is fun to watch but he is the wrestler most likely to give me a heart attack.

We just have to place Top 20 in this tournament to keep the good vibes going. Anything less will be a disappointment. Top 20 shows signs we are improving and multiple AA's will show this to recruits as well. We have two good shots to get that 2nd AA, a third would be unbelievable with how this tournament started. This thing has just gotten started, no excuses our studs need to get this done tonight. The Riders of the world won't have a shot at us in the near future.

We're locked-into 15th going into the championship round.

Very respectable finish and something that should keep momentum moving forward. We actually underachieved IMO. I believe they should follow the Penn St. model and start wrestling less duals and more tournaments to prepare for the rigor of several matches a day. Penn St. only wrestled 16 duals while we wrestle 21. I know duals are fun for the fans but I would wipe out 4-5 duals and stick in another top tournament. The more experience in a tournament atmosphere the better IMO. We're starting to get there and it's very exciting. I know I'll be renewing my season tickets along with my seatmates and hopefully a few more.

Koleszar, the thing is ... we're not PSU yet. Wrestling an extra tournament in place of a dual meet or two isn't going to change that until we continue to bring in top talent (some nice new pieces coming in next year for starters).

I wonder what the monetary return is for wrestling dual meets at the RAC. As we grow as a program, we're going to surely build on attendance more and more. I imagine that every new dollar helps.

I totally understand talent wise we are not Penn St. and that's not what I'm trying to compare is talent. But wrestling Centenary, Franklin & Marshall, Binghamton and George Mason isn't going to pack them into College Ave gym. Those schools were nice when we weren't in the B1G but now we have moved past them. My thinking was more along the lines that a tournament setting maybe more beneficial then putting a drubbing on these schools. I just think the more you do something the more comfortable it becomes. Now obviously the NCAA's are a different animal all together but another tough tournament would get them used to multiple matches a day in the future. It also gives the coaches another opportunity to see what they have to work on with each wrestler to get ready for the NCAA's.
