Norfolk St.Would this be the biggest win of the Kyle Flood era?
Yes - because of the circumstances. PSU is a bigger rival. Its on the road. The program is flailing. It will make it that much harder for PSU to make a bowl at all.Would this be the biggest win of the Kyle Flood era?
Not even close... They lost to temple for crying out loud, even beating a crappy Michigan team last year was bigger
Especially considering (due a really poor home schedule) this is their biggest home game of the season. RU had plenty of experience on the road though in hostile environments.
this is their biggest home game of the season
After the Temple loss, this is a must win for the Nits and when they lose to Rutgers playing Michigan won't seem such a big game.I would say Michigan is a tad bit bigger.
How did your Nits do last season against:plenty of experience? you just joined a major conference last year. so your big away games last year were....at Nebraska, at Ohio State, & at Michigan State?....how did you guys do?
Just hope soft head coaches his usual style and Rutgers ( even with "hard-head" ) will have a shot at victoryI would say the chances are low of beating TTFP. Unless Rettig starts which won't happen with old Hard head at the helm.
How did your Nits do last season against:
Northwestern ( home game)
Michigan
Ohio St (home)
Maryland ( home)
Illinois
& Michigan St. ( home)
A loss is a loss no matter what the score is
( oh wait, you have a whine :joy: to use so you can try to excuse those loses)
PSUyyyeaah, we sucked last year....got it......but are you saying Penn State doesn't have any experience (and won) in big games?.....they're a couple i could point out.
I know...I know...you beat Louisville in 2006.
cute emoticon
Not saying anything except how last season was for the Nits, but you proved my :"oh wait, you have a whine :joy: to use so you can try to excuse those loses" would be something you would use.yyyeaah, we sucked last year....got it......but are you saying Penn State doesn't have any experience (and won) in big games?.....they're a couple i could point out.

PSU
yes, you will beat us but you paid a coach 4.5 million for fourth or fifth place in the Big Ten East.

Think talking about the past is that whinnying excuse.
Yes RU beat Louisville in 2006, but that doesn't make losing to Washington St. in 2015, acceptable to RU fans.
Nor does it make losing to your Nits last season feel any better.
I won't make an excuse for that or bring up November 6 , 1869 because it hasn't a place in this conversation or part of RU's 2014 season.
Just like the the games Penn St played before 2014 has anything to do with Penn St's B1G losses in 2014 and their loss comming up 9/19/2015 to a team in turmoil right now
You want a "cute emoticon", here's one for you:

Michigan will still have been a bigger win. TTFP is perceived down further, considering the Sandusky thing and Temple, and Michigan is a bigger name nationally.
TTFP would be a nice win though.
excuse the losses?....didn't I say we sucked last year?
1869...yes, the birth place of college football....Rutgers....got it, man
no, uhh...the losses prior to 2014 don't have anything to do with...wait for it....2014......got it!........great discussion, thanks man.
Michigan 2014, Maryland 2014, both bigger.
There ya go, Rutgers fans.....Maryland Terps......more important than...you know....TTFP...lol
Biggest comeback in the history of the oldest football program in FBS?There ya go, Rutgers fans.....Maryland Terps......more important than...you know....TTFP...lol
IF.....Don't you mean when.Would this be the biggest win of the Kyle Flood era?
ahh exactly my immediate thought and posted after reading OP only to see you preceded it.To the OP............If?
Win or to me the seasons lost.Temple is better (probably significantly) than both RU and PSU this year. That will be clear enough by the end of the season, but for now, people should stop using it as a reference. Had we played them week 1, the result would have been about the same as it was for PSU.
Last week they beat Cinci pretty comfortably, and they were a heavy favorite to win the AAC.
PSU will be the biggest win, not even necessarily for difficulty. This is a huge game for both teams because of the season so far. Franklin will be on the hot seat if he drops Temple and RU in a 3 week span, a lot of the fan base will turn on him, even with strong recruiting.
Flood needs this PSU win to show he can have a decent year, and that the team is not entering a downward spiral. Its a winnable game for both teams, and therefor an extremely important win for both teams.
