since Illini have NOT beaten an FBS school this season? and they have ONE win..

Two bottom tier football teams playing and fans are worrying about the reaction after a possible loss. For these teams they will be the underdog in almost every remaining game .The pressure to win will be very high for both coaching staffs because this is one of the few games that they have a realistic chance of winning.I picked Rutgers to win 17-14 but its quite possible that Rutgers doesn't score a touchdown based on the offensive woes in past games.Winning league games without a quarterback that scares opponents with passing prowess leaves little margin for victory.

Illinois is a 6 point favorite at RU.....I'm not into confirming what will or should happen, but it will take a huge effort on RU's part to bounce back and win, while scoring the 24-28 point necessary to win. The reality is with a reasonably good game plan and eliminating half of Mehringer's playbook with stuff that just doesn't work, should simplify things for Laviano and the offense.

RU should finish 5-7 this year if the coaches can make simple adjustments to the offensive game plan....Illinois, Penn State and Indiana are teams with talent, but all are visiting RU and with decent crowd noise and students showing up, we should be able to win 2 if not all 3 of these home games.

RU 30- Illinois 24.

I don't understand the sentiment that a loss, by any score, to an excellent Michigan team is "rock bottom"...they'd beat most middle to bottom B1G teams by 5 or more TDs if they wanted to....rock bottom would be finishing the season 2-10 and winless in the conference...

It will be a college football game between two big ten rivals with lots of happy tailgaters on a sweet October day in central New Jersey. Enjoy it.

77-0 to Michigan is much worse than a 7 or 10 point loss to illini.

So we can only go up, in my opinion.

Unless we can somehow score points without Grant, well we will lose.

Btw, after last week Illinois fans must be thinking the same thing.
