If this gang could shoot straight

Every game I watch I say to myself.... there’s got to be a kid out there who sees the players in great positions to score. They just need to be able to make the shot. I really think we’ll get a big fish or 2 for 2020/21

My biggest worry down the stretch last night was whether we would find enough points on the offensive end.

Why? We have a lot of options and Eugene was basically unstoppable. This isn’t a one trick offensive pony like the last number of years. The key down the stretch was defense and making Coffey and Murphy work for everything and stopping Kahscal from hitting a three.

Its truly amazing with those stats that Rutgers has won 6 league games. In the end it comes down to individual match ups ,location of the games and which team has the last offensive spurt.Coach Pikiell and staff have done a outstanding job in keeping the team in games by defense and rebounding and getting just enough offense .A consistent outside scoring threat is a missing piece that Rutgers really needs.

Thus our games are always close. We can't outscore an opponent we need a combination of our good defense and the opponent being just a little off in their shooting to keep it competitive. Props to the coaching staff because when you have a team that is limited offensively you need to coach you ass off in both prep and in in game adjustments to be competitive. This is the kind of coaching our FB team has been lacking. We get a really good shooter or two and this team can be a factor in the upper echelon of the league.

I got a little confident when I saw that Minnesota was struggling at the free throw line too. Also. I figured that kid that was 5-5 from three had to miss sooner or later.
Some real clutch play by Geo at the end.
