If we lose our ranking that's not a bad thing

Yeah, I think a lot of the voters will look at this razor thin win as a "loss" when we were such a big favorite. Probably end up around #26/27

Doesn’t matter. Have to win both games next week to be ranked

Only thing that mattered today was a win. Will get over the Monday results regardless now.

A very close loss on the road to #19 and a nailbiter win at home still keeps us ranked, I think. Although psychologically, I wouldn't mind if we dropped out for the chip on the shoulder reasons...

3rd place team in the unanimous toughest league in the country, halfway through the conference slate, but unranked? Hmm

If we started the pre-season poll as #1 we would be like #10 right now and after this week maybe fall to around 17/18. It’s whatever, just keep the Standings and NET up

Think retaining our spot in the top 25 is contingent on the Wichita St game.

Only team I see dropping out of the top 25 is Memphis (40 pt loss to Tulsa).

LSU, who was 27 this week picked up wins over Florida and Texas so they’ll likely move in.

Wichita St, who was 26 knocked off USF and meets UCF tonight.

Other receiving votes teams (Michigan, UNI, etc.) had rough weeks

It would put that chip back on their shoulders. We play much better defense when we're not ranked

It takes a lot of energy to play that kind of defense. 3 games in 6 days including 1 against an offensive juggernaut in Iowa. Rutgers was gassed and couldn't do it. Hopefully, they can recharge the batteries before playing Purdue. But, they might need the 3 day rest between Purdue and Michigan or the 4 day rest after Maryland in order to get that defensive mojo back.

That explanation makes sense... I am going to go with that.

Rest up Scarlet Knights.. you have earned it (as well as the benefit of the doubt).

I still hope we are ranked Monday but won't lose sleep over it if we aren't. I probably would have lost some sleep with an L today, though.

I'm praying we drop out. Its meaningless right now. In games we're ranked were giving up almost 80 pts/game. Defense has disappeared. Mental focus is gone. This team will be lucky to beat Purdue.

I assume we’ll drop out but rankings matter to me. Prestige, respect, excitement. All come with rankings. I want us to be known to be good. People pay attention to rankings. Crazy to me that anyone that has suffered through years of failure wouldn’t care about being ranked.
