I'm surprised that Syracuse....

There could be a few reasons
  • Babers came in late in the season, and his roots are in the midwest
  • B1G teams recruiting this area a little heavier
  • How many kids really want to go to Syracuse at this point? Their glory years under Coach P are over, the luster is off the dome, they don't play teams in the NJ area (Rutgers or Temple has not games scheduled with them in the near future)

but they play home games in the meadowlands ... METLIFE stadium is so much better then an on-campus stadium

They are in our rearview...

I will agree with alot of what you said here but I think biggest reason is that schools now know how talented the state is. They are competing against more schools now. The Michigan's, Ohio St's, Michigan St's and Penn St's live in NJ. Cuse will get 2nd or 3rd tier of anything.

....doesn't have a single recruit from NJ in their 2016 class. They've always recruited here, have they stopped? Maybe NJ kids just have too many other preferable options nowadays.

He recruited kids he had relationships with already. They didnt get any NY kids either for the same reasons. 2017 will have a bigger focus on NY/NJ. he already has a Buffalo kid committed. I still dont think he will get many in NJ.

I mentioned much of your reasoning ''Money'' in another thread...Babers is a systems coach and in a couple yrs Cuse will be bowling again...I'm hoping HCCA is all he appears to be...I haven't felt this good about a new coach here in awhile..no BS...energetic youth and hard work...we'll know in a yr or two..I'm feeling good now but lets see.

He got rid of a few NJ recruits that didn't fit his system and got his recruits from the mid west. I'm sure the coaches of the NJ recruits will appreciate Cuse action and remember it in the future. The ranking will be Mich, Ohio State, Mich State, Penn State, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, other Big Ten schools, Virginia, Virginia Tech, WV even Boston College, Temple and then Syracuse for NJ recruits.

I agree

And let's not forget the unquestioned allure and prestige the phrase "ACC Football" has in the Northeast. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is this a "finish this sentence" thread?
I'm surprised that Syracuse is in a real athletic conference.

I'm surprised that the ACC would take a school that close to the Arctic Circle.
