I usually wait until the next day to post after a bad loss, so that I don't post something stupid out of emotion that I'll regret. But I don't think a night's sleep helped.

This loss was bad. We should have been able to handle Fordham easily. The coaching staff should have had the guys ready to play. Also, Pike needs to change his halftime speech, because we now have a pattern of starting the second half flat.

I'll take this as sarcasm but agree this was not Pike's best effort. Sorry if this is repetitive as I don't have the energy to read the longer angry threads but I am not as upset about this game as others. Honor had a great game and never got cold. They had a few lucky high bounce threes, and the one before the half they got off with .05 seconds on the shot clock. They went to the line 7 more times than us and I felt like we got hit with more offensive fouls, which are killer, and walks. They are 7-2 so I don't think it is fair to call them terrible. As a program trends up there are some fallbacks along the way, much like a rising stock price. The long haul still looks positive.

Finally, a voice of reason.

And another thing that was a game changer is how poorly we defensive rebounded the ball in the second half. We played good defense, they shoot and miss, they out rebound us, we play more good defense, they shoot and miss, they out rebound us for the ball, they finnaly shoot and make it. That happened numerous times in the second half and it killed us and have them huge momentum.

Even with Honor shooting unconsciously, we would have won the game if we rebounded like we should have.

We need to play hungrier. And we need to make Harper and 1-2 more newcomers an offensive threat, and run some sets for them.

I’ll make it simple. We are developing scorers. We lost our top two scorers from last year. Yes, we have 6 new guys coming in and all of which have good potential to contribute. However, when you lose the scoring we got out of Sanders, Williams, and Freeman sometimes the new guys don’t step up in a game. This will happen a lot this year. Pike is putting together a good roster. But one or two guys will have to step up this year or next and develop into a scorer

The sunshine soldiers and the summer fans are jumping ship a mite prematurely. RU is one of the youngest teams in D1, and the only newcomer I am worried about is McConnell. Anyone who does not understand that this team is way better than Pike's first team, and pines for the days of Corey and Freeman and Williams--
TL
Exactly, the record won’t say we’re better, but it’s nice to see a guy like Shaq Carter come off the bench as our number nine guy against Wisconsin. Losing sucks, but Pike is getting his men. Just need to develop them.

got to be sarcasm--but it was predicted that guys who you wouldn't want to be in a foxhole with would come out of their holes

Wait....seriously?

People really want to fire Pikiell after one bad loss?

This place is losing it.

It’s sarcasm although this post is not because of one game but because of the pattern developed of REALLY BAD non conference losses.

You get wood every time bball loses.

Just admit it

Nope lol. I feel bad for you. I hate that this program can lose games to hartford Stony Brook and Fordham like teams every year. I want it turned around.

Bring back Mike Rice just for the halftime speech. He could surely fire up the guys to go out and get it in the 2nd half

Fire the loser Barchi and allow the athletics to really grow.
Also Rutgers needs to get rid of his second bad choice for AD,(no tax lawyers with ethics backgrounds need apply)

who knew Upstream could be so controversial....anyway kudos to him for stepping up here and taking the licks. I didnt think it was a big deal and if you know his postings you would know it was sarcasm.

Let's not get Upsteam started on the football team having to borrow the tables and stools from the RAC because they are too cheap to buy additional chair and stools.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Oh yeah. I forgot to complain about that. I can't believe that they didn't have the tables at the RAC until after football season, because they couldn't afford to buy a separate 4 sets for the football stadium.

But your brother forgot to complain about the scanners.
