Michigan had won every single first-game of the Big Ten tournament dating back to 2006 when our game was cancelled against them on this day in 2020. We were riding high and they lost 3 of 4 going into that one.
They still have only lost twice since 2006 in their opening B1G tourney game - the last 2 years, Indiana 2022, and to Rutgers last year (that should have punched our ticket). Have to think PSU makes it 3 straight tomorrow night.
I was also there in DC when Pike knocked off OSU for our first ever B1G tournament win. Thad Motta’s last game as their head coach. I remember a time thinking if we’d ever win a Big Ten tournament game. Now we’ve won a few and have another chance tomorrow!
