Why? There is no rule limiting the psoitions or titles on staff. Just can only have 4 coaches and they are only ones who can recruit off campus. Rickard could be recruitng coordinator or dircetor of player personnel or player development. Lots of title availbility as long as $$$ are there
I like Rickard, seems to have a lot of energy and good relationships with his former players. I can see him being an asset to the program.
Depending on where Karl Hobbs is career wise, you wonder if he might be willing to allow Knight to have the title commensurate with being the top assistant if that is a sticking point.
Until the articles today, I was under the impression that Rickard was coming in as one of the three assistant coaches. Evidently that is not the case which means there are still two slots to fill. In some respects this would appear to be a step back on a logical career path for Rickard even though he is moving up to a much larger program. If he is OK with this and it can be sold as at least a lateral then this certainly helps with a scenario where we get two out Knight, Young and Shoes.
Young not listed here on @ParkBenchHoops would seem to indicate he is the 2nd assistant for RU with Karl Hobbs....if accurate, that leaves one true assistant spot open (Knight, Shoes, Rickard, etc...). Clearly Knight would be the most aggressive RU move that can be made here.
It could be Knight, then Shoes as an advisory position and Rickard in a 3rd created position. I don't see any reason why all 3 cannot be in some way involved in the program, but ideally it depends on how aggressive Pat Hobbs wants to be in regards to basketball and rebuilding the program.

I'd be totally fine seeing my ticket price (within reason) increase to see all of this happen.
...you and a few others here, maybe, but not the rest of the potential RU Hoops audience. You find the money, right now, you DO NOT raise ticket prices.
That being said I would LOVE a staff put together as such!
It would seem Rikard could be an assistant in waiting as Knight would be up for a HC in a year or two anyway.

B1G basketball is pretty darn good. If we get our act together a valuable product will be on the floor. Raise prices further on my seats. I wouldn't risk giving them up permanently.
Any fans that are left should be praised, and given a deep discount on season tix. If we land Knight, the Athletic Dept should print up shirts for remaining season tix holders, with a pic of the four coaches, and "Rutgers Basketball. We have a B1G staff."
FYI. Check out Zach Braziller page on Twitter. @NYPost_Brazille Not a fan of RU staff so far. Suggests Hobbs not elite recruiter and suggesting Rasheen Davis of VCU (formerly of Manhattan) should be target.

A staff that, incidentally, isn't even complete yet. He was pressed a number of times and he couldn't answer and then finally threw out some guy from VCU that no one has ever heard of. Sounded like a douche.
If you know recruiting, you know Rasheen Davis at VCU. Point is Davis is not coming here. Braziller is an idiot and a St Johns shill. You are in the minority if you think the trifecta of Knight, Hobbs and Young is not a home run
It not a home run, it is a grand slam. Even a football first guy like me knows that.
I will finally start going back to games now, and I am certain the other football folks will start packing the RAC again.
I will be beyond pleased if we are able to bring knight into the fold to finish off the staff. I am not sure how we are pulling this off and anxious to see how it winds up.
