Is Flood allowed to travel with the team to Happy Valley?

Great question. Up until yesterday I didn't think he could have any contact but I was told(here) it's just coaching the team. If he can't he should throw a huge watch party at HPSS for recruits and students.

Here's your answer. He is not going to Penn State. Will probably be in his basement having a few beers, ha.

"This is a game suspension, as is typical with the Big Ten and other sports," Barchi told NJ.com. "[Flood] is not allowed to participate or have contact with the team on game day in any way shape or form. He is allowed and expected to work the rest of the time, and that's why there is a big fine."

Note to Flood: Please don't use your personal house phone to call RU Coaches at Halftime...they will find out about it (or borrow your neighbor's cell phone either).

That's not the entire answer as the team doesn't head out there on game day so it's conceivable that he could travel out there today & then leave at 11:59 pm tonight.

He should get a burner phone.

Oh...I'm sure RU will track any and all calls into the Asst Coaches Cell Phones from game day.

Received a burner phone call 2 mins after the 2nd Q ended? Must have just been another telemarketer/canadian pharmacy solicitation call.[winking]

Barchi is going to have Flood taken to an undisclosed location at midnight tonight where he will remain, supervised, and without means of any outside access/contact, electronic or otherwise, until 12:01 am Sunday.
No TV, PC, phone, tablet, etc.

There will be multiple chalkboards and chalk, which Flood will use to write 1766 times: "I will never again make direct contact with any faculty members regarding my players."

Doesn't matter. It's only a Rutgers suspension, not an NCAA suspension. Apparently Rutgers regulations mean nothing when you're a "nice guy"

Tomorrow at 8p at the Flood residence...
Flood: what's on tv?
Mrs Flood: aren't you going to watch your team?
Flood: eeehh... I don't know... the program hasn't been the same schiano left... Oh look, blue bloods marathon on my9.

Norries this is Coach Flood I'm calling from a burner phone so there will be no public vetting process. I put Coach fridgen's gameplan in your bag with only minor grammatical corrections from myself. If you do or do not decide to use the gameplan that will be up to you and I fully stand behind your decision.

Further, no belt or shoelaces will be permitted.

Norries," he said - "sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Floodgater...

(Norries eyes become misty and his voice is unsteady as he finishes). I don't know where I'll be then, Norries", he said - "but I'll know about it - and I'll be in happy valley."

Now you know why he was taking notes all those games. Everything's down in writing already.
Then again, perhaps he was really just editing players papers on the sidelines during the games?

You know, this isn't a joke. That's exactly what I thought of...yet the next story in the never-ending embarrassment for alumni/students/players/supporters.

Hope he has better sense than that (and if not, at least use the pay phone in the Princeton Library and the code name 'Notetaker'

*Flood can do all of his standard coaching duties (e.g. lead practices and meetings) from Sunday through Friday.

*Flood cannot have any contact with team personnel on game day, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday through the end of the game. The ban covers everything from the pregame meal to communicating with coaches during the game.

*Flood can travel with the team and participate in meetings and the team dinner on Friday night. Flood was expected to travel to Penn State to be with the team at the hotel and then drive home late Friday night. Saturday's game at Penn State is the only road game during Flood's suspension.

*Flood cannot have contact with the program's boosters during the suspension.

*Flood can recruit as he typically would. There are no restrictions beyond the standard NCAA recruiting rules.

*Flood cannot address the media during the suspension. Interim coach Norries Wilson will assume Flood's role at press conferences.

if not, we'll make room for him on our bus and he can tailgate with us!

A program-building kind of coach would probably watch the game with a huge group of students. Those kind of parties are fun and build a fans base. Your current coach is just keeping the seat warm - barely.
