Is Rutgers better than Seton Hall ? CERTAINLY this season

SHU has no NIL support while Rutgers is busy raking in a billion dollars a year from the B1G and landing the #2 overall recruiting cla$$

If you don't want to be called a troll or closet SHU fan, don't act like one

When will the $ start producing significant results is the question. Been getting Big Ten $ for a while and lost the last two games Vs SHU.

Both teams missed the Dance last season.
In fact a lot of people think SHUs upset win at The RAC was a big factor in keeping RU out of the tourney.

Pike didn’t adjust well and let the style and flow of the game favor SHU.

If your reply is something along the lines of “seton hall fan” , it tells me you don’t think Rutgers is better
RU actually has a first class practice facility, a great home court advantage, the best recruiting class either school has ever had, a better coach, a larger NIL pool, our fan base travels better, we have had infinitely less felons in our program…

I’ve answered honestly and thoughtfully. Will you answer this? Who are you cheering for?

I mostly view all these sorts of questions the same way. They're the equivalent of asking who would win in a fight, a monkey or a dog.

We can throw all the logical argument we want at such questions, which can be fun, I guess. But an actual matchup, or secondarily in the case of sports, a final season ranking, are the only valid determinants.

As long as we play a team head to head, whichever team wins the game is the better team and program that particular season. Then it all starts over the next season. If the teams don't play in a given season, that it goes to final season win/loss records or rankings.

Everything else is just exchanging unprovable opinion.

I think in this case “team” refers to the current squad, and “program” refers to all of the other factors surrounding the team and its performance. I do think one could have a better team in any given year, but not have as good a program overall (APR, NIL, and other factors)

When will you **** off is the real question.

Guy starts a thread after we land our second five star questioning what makes us confident that our program is in better shape.

****. Off.

That's true. Depending on how one views college sports, winning isn't (or at least shouldn't be) the only metric that matters. APR is a metric that, for many of us, can and does impact on the measurable quality of the program.

But, perhaps counter-intuitively, I would argue that a team that has triple the NIL funding and vastly superior facilities to another team, but still loses to that team means the wealthier program is worse, at least that season, not better.

Why so angry?

If you think he's trolling the board, then having an emotional reaction like that is allowing him to win. That's how trolling works, it's always about provoking, never about proving.

He’s a troll and Hall fan and prefers to be called “bro”.

You don’t seem too confident for tomorrow night.
I couldn't care less if we lose by 30. The program was knifed in the gut this year by spenc and that little bitch mulcahy.

Man our down year must've really bothered Harper for him to commit like he did. What a shame.

Maybe if your nazi mod would allow any other fans on your forum, we could go on there and act like a jackass just like you

NIL and the portal have changed how you can evaluate a program. I really expected Mulcahy (at least) and Spencer here this season which would have made a huge difference.

College sports is in a world of free agency. So what you used to think of as program building changes. What is telling for Seton Hall is that Willard left for Maryland. Do they have a great future, a good future, or will the Big East star power dwindle and they become a flash in the pan, occasionally good program?

In that regard I think that our direction as a program would be better, but who knows if we get our NIL together and can survive outflows like we had last year. Since our recruiting class is good, it seems that the answer is yes; but we have to hang onto this good class and have those athletes play for 3 to 4 years and make us a destination.

I'm expecting a Seton Hall win in their half-full rented arena sellout. Maybe they can post a hologram saying "We Win" on the tarps on the upper level? Read into this what you want lol.

So true.

This season ?
As a program?

This season - right now about even based on record and overall uneven performance by both teams. After tonight we will likely have a clearer answer.

As a program - Rutgers based on future positioning with regards to recruiting, infrastucture, conference alignemnt and revenue.

Now who are you rooting for tonight as you've avoided that question.

FIGG part deux?

The '05 class had one 4* (Inman) and a composite overall ranking in the 40s nationally. The '24 class right now has two 5* and one 4* and is ranked 2nd overall in the nation. Were you raised to be a jackass or is this just a case of blind jealousy?

Probably genetics play a part.

Rivalry is going maybe gone IMO. When Dylan committed I didn't even think of checking out the Hall board to see their reaction. But I did look at Indianas. Kind of sad in a way but this game is just not that important anymore.

You are a complete idiot. Not because of tonight’s game but because you spend so much time on an opponents message board. It is actually sad - may you find a real positive interest. Negative people are like vampires.
