Kill is a former head coach that will be a coordinator now.

Ohio St - Greg Schiano (former HC)
Alabama - Sarkisian (former HC)

We see this at a lot of the top programs where the coordinators are either hot shots up and coming or former head coaches. I think this is a positive sign since this is a coach who has been there and done it. He shouldn't be surprised by what he sees or overwhelmed by the job.

Kill can tell recruits that while at Minny:
- won at Michigan in 2012
- beat Nebraska twice
- beat Penn St in 2013

I'd say so, except Schiano and Sark both left their old jobs under bad circumstances, whereas Kill would still be at Minnesota if not for the health issues.

Great point and many people are overlooking that. I am not downplaying his health issues, epilepsy and seizures are a very scary thing, but if he didn't have epilepsy he would still be a BIG head coach.

Its equivalent to other hires. He's a B1G talent. If Lane Kiffin was good enough for Alabama, Kill is more than good enough for Rutgers.

if he didn't have epilepsy he would be a HC at a top program by now.

This is why I don't get people not being happy with this hire. The guy has proven credentials, I think he can handle OC. This is the kind of hire I wanted originally to get some HC experience on the staff. Since Ash is a defense guy, I had really wanted an experienced OC on the original staff. One year later, we have it. That is a quick fix.

The only thing that is scary with Kill is that he needs to stay for 3 or 4 years, and I am not sure he intends to do that. We cannot keep changing things every year or we will never improve.
