Outrage! Fire Hobbs!
That's a fairly serious charge. Even the parts he admitted are bad. Sad to see this happened but he had to be dismissed.
You misunderstand me. I am sad he (allegedly) did this, not that he was dismissed for doing it.Sorry, not sad about it if he actually did this.

I know you just mean “he deserves the dismissal”, but it can be sad for a number of reasonsSorry, not sad about it if he actually did this.
I know you just mean “he deserves the dismissal”, but it can be sad for a number of reasons
- Thrown away opportunity on the court. Resurgent game against Iowa, could possibly have provided helpful minutes his senior year or at least helpful depth.
- Unless you think of people in terms of good and evil (which you shouldn’t), you can be sad for how this kid’s life just changed and how he let his problems/flaws ruin great opportunities in life. He may now get deported to Senegal in disgrace with no college degree. Will be on him to make something of his life.
- Shocking development from someone who appeared to be a gentle kid. Goes under the heading of “you never know with anybody”. I’m pretty cynical and kind of shakes your faith in people a bit.
- Tough and unfair for the team/coaches to go through and regroup as they end what has been a positive season. Brutal loss to penn state and then this played a role in the final score at Indiana in my opinion.

I think we can all without hesitation agree that we feel sorry for the victim.
Well said comments especially about someone who came off as a quiet but " gentle" kid as you've expressed it. You're right --never imagined Thiam for getting into this "alleged" problem.....I know you just mean “he deserves the dismissal”, but it can be sad for a number of reasons

I wonder if the team and coaches feel the same way and were surprised, or if there were signs. Either way, I hope the players and coaches address it fully, as I really think this is the kind of thing where the bad vibes can lower morale and stick around if you don’t digest it fully. A team needs to feel like they are a family on a mission together, especially in a sport like basketball with a small roster compared to say football. Hopefully they can get past it and even use it to bring them closer together, and feel good heading into the offseason.Well said comments especially about someone who came off as a quiet but " gentle" kid as you've expressed it. I really believe that Issa's suspension on Friday had a major affect on the Indiana game. You're right--it's a sense of disruption within the basketball family. Nothing is more upsetting within a family than to discover that someone you thought you knew only to discover you really don't.I wonder if the team and coaches feel the same way and were surprised, or if there were signs. Maybe this relationship was part of the reason for his poor play. Who knows. It does open up a roster spot though.I wonder if the team and coaches feel the same way and were surprised, or if there were signs. Yup. Couldn’t agree more. I am always sad about wasted opportunities. But actions have consequences and many times you do not get a second chance.I know you just mean “he deserves the dismissal”, but it can be sad for a number of reasons

Surprised he landed any of the slaps, dude couldn't hit shit on the court
That’s what he does here.Man, that's a sad reply. So unnessary and not a good look by you either. You think that's funny or just being a total jerk?
That’s what he does here.
I was a little surprised at how some dismissed these charges as overblown and tried to downplay it. These were serious charges. The only one we should feel sorry for is the victim. Whether he threatened her life looks like he said/she said but slapping and pushing a woman is a no no. A domestic dispute that got heated but its over the line when violence is involved
Who knows what was going on with Issa all year long, it was a mystery novel for sure but his MIA routine hurt this team no doubt
Rutgers doing the right thing by dismissing him. Its a distraction that the program does not need this late in the season and obviously had an impact on the Indiana no show. Hopefully the players can move on and find the right mindset for the Big 10 tournament...another learning lesson for them.
I agree and I think it becomes clear why we saw the performance we did on Sunday. Unfortunately, I think this will carry over to Wednesday. Impossible not to have affected the team. And since it happened in Issa's apartment even if conceivably none of his roommates were actually there (which we don't know one way or the other), some of them are now staying in a crime scene and one of their teammates/roommates is sitting in a jail cell potentially waiting to be deported.
Sunday had nothing to do with issa. We simply got the shit kicked out of usI agree and I think it becomes clear why we saw the performance we did on Sunday. Unfortunately, I think this will carry over to Wednesday. Crappy ending to an otherwise good year.
