Freeman got a redshirt? Is that real new news or did I miss that?
I dont think he's gotten the redshirt already but he is expected to qualify for the redshirt.

I agree with this 100%. The way RU will improve is to keep the players in the program and build depth by filling classes. If EJ can keep the players we have, get the three verbals enrolled and add a 4th recruit, the team will be much, much improved next year. The injuries are what they are but we have some solid pieces if we can only keep them together. The foot injuries are certainly a concern for the bigs, but hopefully they are OK for next year. This is a solid recruit for us. Yes, he needs to gain strength. In terms of potential he has some very nice upside. The key is for RU not to lose any of the current members of the team to transfer. If we keep the current roster together and add the three injured players Thiam will not have to be rushed along. That is how a program that is not gaining top 50 players can grow and develop. In short, a good commitment for us.
interesting 247Sports lists Thiam as a power forward. Obviously he needs to put on some weight and muscle to play the 4 in the Big 10 but for those of you asking for a stretch 4 maybe he will be able to develop into one?
But regardless, good get by Rutgers. Again, with it being this late in the game..getting a 3 star prospect to choose RU over St. John's and Seton Hall is huge. Good luck to him
I doubt that SHU offered Thiam. SHU does not have any more scholarships available next year. He's supposedly a good player.
Could be the turnover will be the one or two many on this board imply aren't B1G caliber .This assumes no roster turnover - in today's college basketball, and with Rutgers history, this will not come to pass
you okay NUTS ? lol
Speaking of Freeman, it was just reported on Twitter that he practiced today, non-contact. Official determination of whether he will be out for the season will be made in 4 weeks.
Not-for-nothing but isn't that, well, the end of the season?
Are we talking about a guy who compares to Herve Lamizana, or something else ?
You can't call this a good get until
Herve was very gifted atheleticly....not many compare to him. No way a Herve type is on the board this late with few schools interested
Thiam is a guy they've been targeting for almost a year now. His commit was pretty much a done deal since October, and has been close to top of the wish list all along during this cycle.
Great get by Shoes. That's one for each of the assistants so far here in recent days...
If so then we are not gaining ground on rival B1G schools with this type of player. It sounds like Eddie is scrambling for bodies for next season.
Herve was 6-10+ with a good handle for a big. Thiam is around 6-8. Size we need, but he's not Herve.
Herve still makes a nice living as a basketball mercenary playing overseas, and makes occasional appearances on the Ivory Coast national team during international events.
And he's much closer to 6'8 than he ever was 6'10
Macon landed Tripp, Bhatia landed Dailey and Thiam was Shoes.
Thiam had little interest besides RU (despite St Johns making a late push) because this essentially has been wrapped up for months.
This is a GREAT get for the program. This kid has drawn effusive praise from coaches I have spoken with. He can have an impact right away here.
ah Herve. He could have been so much more.
However, who could forget his buzzer beater at the RAC against Providence. I leapt (I use the term loosely) out of my aisle seat and landed on my rolled ankle. With all the noise, no one could hear my expletives, but I nearly rolled down 10 rows and almost onto the court. not pretty.
Thiam has just enrolled at Coastal Academy in Belmar, NJ
Taurean Thompsom, Alpha Diallo. Seton Hall has offered 2016 kids.
Spots open up. Not saying Thiam had a Seton Hall offer, but not having any available scholarships does not prohibit a program from extending an offer.
Doesn't Ohams go here also?
What % of Jordan commitments step foot on the court? Is it under 50%Afraid to ask but does anyone have any idea about his academic eligibility qualifications or concerns?
