It is a dumb take to say schiano shouldve burned more time before scoring a go ahead touchdown with 1:08 left

Heard @Richie O and @mb5789 talking about this on their pod. People making this case have zero situational awareness on this one.

1) you burn the clock if the situation is you are down 3 or less, this way youre nearly guaranteed to either tie it on a FG or win it on a touchdown.

2) IF schiano did burn the clock down and we got into a situation where there was 25 seconds left and we had a 4th down and needed a touchdown and couldnt punch it in the same people would all be out with pitchforks saying “WHAT WAS GREG THINKING, WE NEEDED A TOUCHDOWN AND NOW WE HAND THE BALL BACK TO ILLINOIS WITH 25 SECONDS LEFT AND GAME IS OVER. HES SO DUMB”.

3) greg intentionally didnt burn any of his timeouts because had we not gotten in the end zone, if our D couldve forced a 3 and out then all 3 timeouts could be used and force an illinois punt with around 40-45 seconds left from inside their own 15

People gotta think through scenarios before coming here and speaking so confidently on things like this. Again, if greg had hindsight on his side and could see into the future and knew we’d score a TD there then hed opt to score with 0 seconds left. And if your aunt had balls, she’d be your uncle
