This team is too fundamentally unsound to beat Nebraska, or really anyone, other than Kansas and Army.

And that is before factoring in the off field distractions.

Even when Elmer Flood comes back, these questions aren't going anywhere, obviously. Every time he meets with the media his job security will be raised. It takes special teams to be mentally tough enough to fight through that and win.

We ain't special...

This team has no identity. We're a power running team that can't run the ball consistently. Our front 7 is supposed to be a strength and it got manhandled.

We're just not very good...

Do you want Schiano back? I certainly do.

Yup it's possible to turn the season around, and it's also possible I get a tryout with the Knicks at 60 years old. Doubt either happen.

Going bowling would be another excuse not to get serious about fixing things. It was nice beating UNC 40-21 last year but East Carolina beat them 70-41. Last years record was empty calories from a diet of cupcakes and an unusually shitty Michigan. RU hasn't beaten a good team in a long long time. Probably the 2011 Cincy (10-3) game. RU won that 20-3 and then got their heads handed to them at UConn despite BE title on the table.

This team would be lucky to beat Kansas and Army. Forget about Indiana and Maryland. This team looks small, fragile, weak, afraid to hit someone, slow...did I mention small? And our coaches are all abysmal...good combination.

How about UNC beating GT last year. You just want to cherry pick to support your biased positions. UNC was a decent, middle of the road team last year, similar to us. UNC had some tremendous athletes and just didn't put it together for a full season. We beat a very talented Michigan team who was poorly coached and also an athletic and solid Maryland team. Go ahead. Come up with more nonsense that we never beat good teams.

Right now the season shouldn't be as much a concern as the overall trajectory of the program. Even if the team managed to go bowling it might just be obscuring the big picture of where the program might be heading.

Reminder:

Kyle Flood teams are 0-3 on Homecoming losing by a combined score of 124 - 40.
guys Indiana's offense is GOOD.. if they have QB Sudfield last year neither PSU or Rutgers beats them.. they worry me.-sg

Indiana will scorch our D.

Combined score of what? I can't even remember given that the scores of our HC opponents were so high.

OK - I had to look: 37-0 last year vs. Wisc.; 49-14 vs. Houston in 2013; and 35-23 vs. Kent State. so outscore 121 to 37 the last 3 HC games. The statistics are NOT in our favor.

Yes - UNC played some good games last year. They were known to do so every couple of weeks - and then being no-shows on the other weeks. NC press knew the Tarheels were spooky that way. They didn't even get off the bus for the Rutgers bowl. Last year's record was lucky for the season but unlucky in that it sustained illusion (for some) that Flood was a good coach.

"UNC for weeks insisted it was ready and it sounded ready for its season finale against Rutgers, but then the Tar Heels did what they’ve been known to do at times this season: They provided a confounding, no-show performance in a 40-21 defeat."

I watch the Indiana games every week and will be attending their game against the Buckeyes in a few weeks.. Yes, while Sudfeld makes them a better offense compared to Zander, they're not without their flaws. They have young WRs who are coming along. Right now, Jordan Howard is the biggest piece of their offense. He's really hard to stop. He runs with a lot of power and always keeps moving forward. However, he doesn't have break-away speed like Coleman.

Also, their defense is a big question mark. The entire secondary is made up of freshmen and redshirt freshmen, and they're exhibiting the same defensive issues as last year. Not a lot of pressure from their DLine and their secondary gives up a lot of passing yards. Do not confuse their defense with Penn State's defense. We may not be favored in Bloomington, but we have a solid chance of winning.

All I'm saying is that in 2008 we opened by getting absolutely blown out--at home--by Fresno and UNC. More bad followed. Then a light turned on.

It can happen. I'll keep rooting for the team.

LOL Sorry!

a "combined score of.....".....124-40

Yup

Its now about the future of the program, whether we get 2, 3 or 5 wins, doesn't matter to the future of the program, time for a change

UNC seems to be on track in 2015..I see former Auburn HC Chisik is an assistant. Glad we don't have to play them this year...

I'll be rooting for this team until the bitter end but that doesn't mean we can't talk about the debacle that we are right now.

The Indiana /Rutgers game has all the makings of a shootout because both teams have mediocre defenses.

LOL that team was stocked players who are going to start for NFL teams in a few hours. Who on our team will be getting a look?

Fact is Flood has only 2 wins against Teams with winning records since October 2012.
2-14 against winning teams is not quite getting it done. Ya think ?

I count 6 wins against winning teams since October 2012:
10/6/2012 - Uconn at 3-2
10/13/2012 - Temple at 3-2
11/17/2012 - Cincy at 7-2
9/21/2013 - Arkansas at 3-0
9/20/2015 - Navy at 2-1
11/29/2015 - Maryland at 7-4

But since your RU's No. 1 troll, you'll come up with your own math.

Well, if you saw a snapshot of the message board after 1-5 you would have seen a very similar scene to today.

As for NFL talent, Agudosi looks awesome. Why weren't he and LC on the field at the same time? Patton is alright but Agudosi is a presence.

I was here then. I saw that team nearly win at WVU and Cincy. This isn't that team, not even close.

Kind of like last season and the USF game a couple of years ago.

I wouldn't want to. I'm willing to sacrifice this season. I want Flood fired and Schiano back.

I think the season is over anyway -- too many off the field distractions which might have cost us a winnable game. We couldn't consistently run the ball last night and couldn't get to Hackenberg desplte PSU's oline woes. Flood should be dead man walking if he comes back from the suspension (which he might since we don't have anyone else on staff that's HC material).

New coach and staff for 2016. I hope that Julie has her short list ready -- and I hope that Schiano is not on it.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about teams that finished the season with a winning record. Arkansas in 2013, for example, i believe lost every game the rest of the season after we beat them.

At the time we played Arkansas they had a winning record. Just because Rutgers beat them and put them on the road to losing doesn't mean we beat a team with a losing record. You could spin this any way you want.

Ok but they started off 3-0 by beating Louisiana, Samford and Southern Miss. Lets not act like they were 3-0 but beat Alabama and LSU going into the RU game. They then went on to get blown out the remaining 8 games of the season so they were not a good team don't try to spin this W as a positive for Flood.

A Samford team that won 8 games and a Louisiana team that won 9 games. Yes, they lost in overtime to Miss. State and by 4 points at LSU, but according to your small brain they got blown out in the remaining 8 games. Once again, you love to re-write history to spin facts and of course you must be good at predicting the future. Now STFU.

Arkansas was not a good win. Please stop. They were a 3-4 win team both times. Flood beat 4 teams that finished the season with a winning record- Syracuse, Cincy, Navy, and Maryland- all teams we had beaten before, and the first 3 multiple times, when Schiano was here, and yet, we need to glorify Flood for that...smh....

Not without the right players and coaches and right now I think we have neither. I don't count Kansas as a win despite us playing them at home at Noon.

And I would not overlook Indiana and Maryland, and I don't see us beating any of the traditional powers this year. We'll be lucky to keep them under 50 points each.

Despite my prediction of a 19-13 RU win over PSU (wearing my rose colored glasses), I'm starting to fear we may go 2-10 or even 1-11.

Most folks count end of seasons records as a better gauge of what's am"winning team".
