IU or MSU

Doesn’t much matter but since we beat Indy and lost to MSU probably better IU wins for us
Keeping Indiana as a Q1 win is better for Rutgers but I'm still rooting for them to implode and miss the tournament, so, yeah.
With an Indy win they both will have 4 losses in conference. We have a road game at Assembly Hall that will be tough and at MSG against Sparty. A split against both would really help. On that note I can't stand Indy. Would love to bury them.
Indiana has a ton of talent to sort through. But with Hood-Schifino and Tamar Bates, that's 2 Top 40 type players in 2021 and 2022, that kinda makes up for Mike Woodson on the bench. Add in Jackson-Davis and subtracting Xavier Johnson out with injury and Indiana is better off without Johnson and more minutes for Bates & Hood-Schifino.
I notice the game is in Bloomington and not Indianapolis

Why? What happens if we write them off and are wrong about it? Writing them off is fun.
Indiana makes the tournament IMO.

Michigan State missed almost all their threes for the last 25 minutes and missed a bunch of foul shots. The Koehler kid had a couple of baskets early then TJD took him to the cleaners. Bates for IU hit 5-6 from 3 giving them the cushion they needed. TJD is playing pretty possessed lately and they are riding him. 3 good wins in a row. Cut down on turnovers as well. Playing much better after their funk.
I don’t care if they win 20 games in a row. They are still soft and we will beat them
Do we root for Purdue or MD to win? MD if we think we could win the B1G title. Long way to go in the regular season. Purdue if we want to hold the distinction of being the only team to beat them and keep them at the top of the national rankings.
With the Maryland favorable 3 game homestand coming up, if they can steal this one they really could put them in a good spot for their ncaa tournament resume

Yup, but I have a feeling at some point we will need to weather a really tough stretch. It happens every year.
personally I dont think we can win the league, I may eat my words and I would love to and technically the Purdue lead is only 1 over RU if you consider the tiebreaker. Our offensive struggles even at home will lose us games
agree, there is a potential one coming up, Penn State is big to avoid or at least delay it
every school in this league will go through a rough patch..key is to bounce back. Indiana did that. Now Northwestern and Maryland are facing it. Illinois and Michigan have been up and down and all around. Ohio State lost 5 in a row, finally won but they will have to keep winning.
Rutgers can definitely win the league. Purdue is turning into Edey and 4 other guys. Pressure their guards full court and the freshman will stumble. I can see them going on a 3 game losing streak. They got lucky today. Maryland outplayed them and had 2-3 chances to win. Maryland had better athletes at every position and Edey saved Purdue today. They have won on last second shots at Ohio State and At Michigan State. They have to go to Michigan to Indiana, to Northwestern , to Maryland and to Wisconsin. Their upcoming stretch is at Michigan , home to MSU and Penn State , at Indiana , home Iowa. Plus their last 4 , home Ohio State , home Indiana , at Wisconsin and home Illinois. Can definitely see 2 game losing streaks in both of those stretches.
they will lose but I do not see them losing more than 4...can RU only lose 2x the rest of the year...thats where I am coming from, even if Purdue lost 5 more and finished 14-6...can RU only lose 3 more? if they want to win the Big 10. RU has to win the next 2 definitely
It’s basically 1.5. They are two ahead but if we make up the 2 then we win.

I would be happy for a 2nd place finish at this point. if we played them again there would be a good chance for us to be 1st but think that is out f the picture

Since we thread the needle nearly every game between winning and losing, I find it very hard to believe we will win the league. However, a top 4 finish is definitely in play.
I think RU loses 5 more games to finish 12-8. Not sure where that'll put us in the standings, but there are so many teams that can beat each other that to say we can finish first or second is a stretch. Of course 12-8 might end up being good enough for second place, lol.
