Izaiah Brown 400 meter runner

Why didn't Izaiah run in the NCAA indoor championships again in March? I think he got injured last year but he has won the 400 meter in the BIG Championships I think for 3 consecutive years in indoor track? Hopefully he can run well at the Penn Relays and have an outstanding spring season. It would be nice if we could win the 4 X 400 meter relay at Penn. The Penn Relays are like the World Series of track. It is an amazing athletic competition. I always enjoyed watching it.

Brown did not run in this year's NCAA indoor championship because he did not qualify. The indoor NCAA qualification is based on the top times for the season. I think the top 16 qualify. Brown's winning time was only the 24th best time and was almost a full second slower than his Big ten winning time in 2017.
So far his spring season performances have not been terribly impressive. His best time this spring is about a second slower than the best time of teammate frosh Taj Burgess. His best time this season leaves him out of the top 8 in the Big Ten.

Thank you. That is hard to believe realizing that he has won the BIG 400 indoors 3 times. I coached track & cross country in high school for 36 years and love both sports. I remember well the 1970's when RU had the Rutgers Relays and we had some real outstanding runners. There are so many outstanding runners in NJ. It would be nice if we could start getting more to go to RU.
