“Janarion's rehab is going great,” Ash said. “He's around here a lot. He's got a smile on his face, feeling really good. He's doing great in the classroom. We're still in the information-gathering phase to help him make the best decision moving forward.”

“We have not received all the information that we need,” Ash added. “He and his family will make that decision sometime in December after we've gathered all the information on getting the year back, what it looks like for the NFL and things like that.”

“It's senior night and he's going to make a decision whether he's going to be announced or not be announced,” Ash said. “It's not going to determine anything for the future. … That decision for him to come back or not won't be made until December sometime.”

Negatiod.

You could have titled it "Grant unsure if he will leave"
:sunglasses:

Not sure how his chances are in the pros, but he has to do what is best for him in the long run. At this point, who really thinks next year is going to be significantly different from what we have now? You don't build a program by throwing true freshmen into the mix and hoping it will change the outcomes.
Ash really has his hands a lot fuller than I thought at the beginning of the season.

I think WR is one place that you CAN do this so long as they earn their way on ST's and can handle their blocking duties. We are in desperate need of an influx of higher-level athletes out their on the field (again, look at ST's, where we are getting killed...). Otherwise, agree, gotta RS the big boys, LB's, DB's, etc., if and when you can.

Yeah, what happened to that guy? I miss arguing with him.

Right now he actually sees hope for the future because it lies where - as I stated ad nauseum during that period - when he saw none at the time (won't say the "magic word" this time lol...)!

To me it is a non brainer for him to play for Rutgers another year if he gets the medical redshirt. Reason being the NFL will be leery about his injury. If he plays lights out next year the NFL won't remember that he was ever hurt.

story being thrown around is that he has to do whats best for his family...

:boxing: (tuning up for Saturday night in the stands). I'm 0-1 since my last scrum in 6th grade, but the other guy broke his hand from hitting me in the head. :chairshot:

Seriously @Knight Shift who do you think you are that guy NUTS circa '13-15????

Yeah, what happened to that guy? I miss arguing with him.
Maybe that guy will be next to me in the stands in section 107. After I am done with the PSU fans, I may need some more tune up work. :boxing:

If he wants a look at the NFL, he'll need to come back, plain and simple.

Not sure if I follow the title of the thread....

of course he doesn't know if he's coming back.... he has no idea of his pre-draft grade yet and hasn't heard back from NCAA on a medical waiver.

the only thing that he seems "unsure" about is whether he wants to be announced on senior night... and even that doesn't mean he's going/coming back.

personally, I think he should be announced/recognized on senior night no matter what....

It was adapted from the title of the article I linked:
"
Rutgers star Janarion Grant unsure of plans"

Read the article. He will get a redshirt if he applies for it. He has not made a decision on whether he will even do that. (This is not great news--it would be much better if he knew he was coming back for another year).

Grant's injury is just a broken bone yes? Don't think that's a big deal (compared to knee etc) if he has good workouts.
He's still on slight side for both cfb and NFL. RU coaches were rightly worried about using him too much because of his build. In NFL he's probably just a returner and maybe safer.
