Is scheduled for September 25th. Cut his list to 7, looking to sign early in the fall.

Nice highlights. Seems to have a high hoops IQ. Efficient movement on offense. Dribbles pretty well for his size. Nice use of the left hand. Would be a tremendous commit.

He was dazzled by their facilities. Let's hope he re-focuses and comes to his senses. Does he want to play A-10level or Big Ten.

Do you want to play in the NCAA tourney, or do you want to play for a last place team. That's what we're up against. In time we'll win these battles, but for now it's still a battle.

The most recent developments on the recruiting trail have not been positive after some early optimism about November. I guess this why we are hearing more names of guys playing similar positions.

When it comes to mens basketball nothing comes easy.Schools like Rutgers with a losing tradition must win recruiting battles before the season starts .

He was priority. Thought he would give a solid boost as a freshman. Next up? I would suspect aaren smith and david carahee. Both good prospects with big ten minds.

We shouldn't be throwing shots at just about any program or conference. VCU is more of a Big Ten level program than we are.

Yeah not sure why anybody would be surprised by this. VCU WENT TO THE FINAL FOUR for crying out loud, and we're the worst P5 program in the country and haven't even sniffed the tournament since 1991.

Is is correct that B1G TEN doesnt mean anything if we are at the bottom to a point but in the end it is still the B1G and and if these kids are really that talented and confident in there abilities then they should be able to make the difference to where we would no longer be at the bottom if they were here. Eddie has started to get it done with Corey Kwe and Nigel and all the guys coming in so we really are on the right path in my opinion. I think with the talent that we will have on the court in the 2016-17 season Jenkins could have been a real nice piece to the puzzle here and not to belittle any school or conference but the fact that Rutgers was in the A 10 25 years and is now beyond thrilled to be in the B1G should tell you all you need to know about which conference these big time recruits should desire to play in. Yes VCU is a perennial tournament team and they no doubt have a good basketball tradition there but why isnt there anything being said about coming to Rutgers and being a difference maker and bringing this once proud basketball progam back to relevance. Rather than going there and fitting in how about coming here and making history and being the difference. Thats what Eddie should be telling these recruits come be the difference Yea we havent been to the tournament since 91 but now if you come aboard and with all these other major players that I have coming to Rutgers we should have a really good shot at getting back. Sorry for ranting

Kids arent thinking like that. They want to see a winning team. Its an easier route. Ej needs a 16+ win year

Exactly. I wasn't belittling anyone. I've been in VCU's new practice facility under construction and it's lights out. The fact remains they're in the A-10 and play a lower level schedule. You would think a high level player would want the challenge. We need a few more pieces to be competitive and he could be one of them.

By that token Gonzaga, San Diego St, Wichita St among others are lesser programs then Texas Tech, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, Rutgers etc. based soley on the conference they play in.

First off the A-10 is pretty darn good and VCU has consistently played a top level non-conference schedule. Last year they played Villanova, Oregon, N Iowa, Virginia, and Cincinnati. So they played 5 NCAA teams in the non-conference including a 1 seed-Villanova, 2-seed and ACC regular season champ UVA, 5 seeded UNI and two 8 seeds Oregon and Cincy. Also played an ODU team that went to the NIT.

That is significantly stronger then what Rutgers plays.

Yawn mich. rams are also far better than johns

Posters know what ru and vcu have done, previous posts point to that

taje your lectures to the shoe board

This surprises me a bit as Smart is no longer the coach at VCU. He took the job at Texas. Some how I think VCU will not be the team it was under Smart.

Last year VCU's SOS was #9, Rutgers was #19 and SJU was #30.

Not sure you can look at that and say VCU played a "significantly stronger"schedule than RU. Do you feel Rutgers played a "significantly stronger" schedule than St. John's?

If that were the case I wouldn't need to make the argument.

I love how posters say things blatantly opposite of what is happening.

What in God’s name does SJU have to do with it?

I love how people can’t win an argument so they bring up irrelevant stuff.

Nobody disputes the Big 10 is a strong conference that allows you a tough conference schedule.

Again by definition RU will have a schedule like that so what? That means they are better then Wichita St? Want to look at Wichita St’s conference RPI schedule?

That is why Northwestern is better than Wichita St?

This whole thing started because certain posters can’t understand why a player chose VCU over Rutgers, seriously?

And their entire argument is RU is in the Big 10. I didn’t make that argument.

Furthermore a few years ago Rutgers was part of arguably the best basketball conference ever assembled, the Big East. With about 6 current and future Hall of Fame coaches and nationally recognized programs. Was Rutgers supposed to win all of the recruiting battles then as well over perceived smaller conference teams? If they were it didn’t work then.

Nor for that matter did it necessarily work for SJU but I never claimed it should.

I don't see us winning 16 games this coming year so I hope that is not the case.

Recruits are going to find it hard to come to a 9 win program. They like to see a winning team. They don't want to all be like Corey Sanders. This season is very important.

Its like the chicken or the egg thing with wins and recruits but a couple things Wins only come with winning players who are also coachable and Rutgers has already begun that process with Corey and kwe so Eddie is doing a terrific job of recruiting thus far.

Easy. I have no qualms with your point that VCU is a stronger program than RU. None. You closed your post stating VCU played a "significantly stronger" schedule than RU. In my opinion that was inaccurate and I pointed that out. I used SJU as a comp because you are a fan. If it makes you feel better VCU SOS was #9, RU was #19 and UCLA was #29. Do you believe Rutgers played a significantly tougher schedule than UCLA?
