ok..so same station that reported yesterday that he interviewed HERE..now changes wording To 'actually interview there'..comments from same reporter in thread say Kill is interested and is siezure free..so sounds like Ash and he talked..somewhere..somehow..

Maybe his offenses were not amazing, but he won at Minny at not everyone does.
RU is not going to take an OC from a winning P5 team. Kill is a great alternative to that.

I guess you were not around here when Terry Shea was named Coach of the Year in the Big East while Miami, BC, & VT were still in the league.
And that year, RU lost to all of those teams. By a lot. As far as Kill is concerned, unless RU also hires Alex Gibbs, the offense probably won't get any better.
We could get Dan Werner who was fired from Ole Miss.

You 'spose Ash gets up in the morning and checks the board to see whom else he might interview? (Not meant as a rag on you, KnightShift, but rather I just got a laugh out of imagining Ash having his coffee, reading the board, and saying, "Damn, I'm going to give that guy a call!"
If this is true then Kill shouldn't be the hire and I love Kill. Unless Kill take 400 and we pay another guy 5 to replace an existing coach.
I've heard he's correct. Hobbs is an excellent fundraiser, so it may be done that way, but we're not stuck at $450K - for the right guy/guys - if we need to go higher. We'll see I guess.

Kill and Minnesota did not have a friendly parting. He wanted to still be part of the program and the school said no. Kill will not be going back to Minnesota except to fish maybe.
I don't recall him really being an offensive or defensive coach. I know he liked very conservative football where you did a lot of 2 back 2 tight end sets and play field position and defense. Kind of wait for you to make a mistake. I don't think he can physically be a head coach any more as doctors won't clear him. That was an issue at Minnesota. Not sure if being an assistant is different. He is a big disciplinarian. Not many 2nd chances with him.
I don't think he fits any part of what Ash has said he wants to do. It will have to be a very good deal for him because he is with his buddy(Snyder) at K State. He may also hope to be Snyders replacement if he can get his epilepsy in check.

1) the "disciplinarian" part goes hand-in-hand with how Ash wants to/is running this program
2) again, it appears, he would be brought in as part of a 2-man team for the O with a guy who runs the type of O (power spread) that Ash wants us to run.

PS, I think it would be a bad choice to hire Kill. There are a lot better folks out there. If bringing him in to help teach Ash how to be the head coach then I think you just as well fire Ash now and save doing it in 3 years. He is an Alpha, he might listen to what the "assistant" has to say but will just do what he wants anyway. To me it would be wasting $500,000 a year. JMO

I could reach out to Hobbs, who I know, but I would be way out of bounds doing that, so I will refrain. But Dan Werner would be a home run hire. He's run a spread and a Tempo offense. Ole Miss has a heavier passing emphasis, but any OC worth their salt can adapt.---You hear that Pat and Chris???

I have read through the thread and have come to the conclusion that no one knows anything and no one has heard anything and, unlike in previous RU football lives, there have been no leaks. So, bottom line, we really don't know anything about anyone right now. But, we all have lots of opinions.
Bob Barchi is not signing any blank checks & the donors have already been hit hard this year with the build fund & football upgrades. Hope you are right but that is not what I have heard about being able to pay what is needed to get a top OC
When I say winning I mean this year, meaning we're unlikely to get someone "hot" after a 2 win season and our budget.
But he certainly has an interesting record. Is he a real candidate? The main names I see are Kill and the Toledo and UNH guys.

The video haunts me, especially after nearly hitting a deer this week. The deer driving the jeep with QOTSA tied to the hood is freaky.
How high is high? 600-700K or 800K-1M? If we are actually able to go higher I could realistically believe the first range is possible would be skeptical about the latter.
I have no idea if Ash considers someone already on staff worthy of such a position.... but maybe.
