Wow, talk about crashing to Earth!
His agent severs ties with him and his father thinks he may not live to see his 24th birthday.
Total train wreck.

Sadly, he has a victim of affluenza. It isn't his fault his parents were wealthy. He deserves sympathy and understanding.

Johnny, I'm sorry your dad never knocked some sense into you as a kid. Whoever thought they would have a franchise QB posting videos talking into a stack of cash on the phone, like he's Floyd Mayweather, deserves to lose their job. No wonder he went to the clowns.

Young man has some serious issues. His parents gave him everything and may have contributed to what we're seeing now but ultimately Johnny has to WANT to straighten his life out. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

Entitled DB who partied his career away. Gotta be some drug issues here too no doubt.

Now, if these allegations about abusing the girl are true, then he is more than just a DB, but an all around piece of trash who should be serving hard time in the state pen.

At this rate, he'll land there soon enough at least.

I'm sorry I can't agree and I don't have sympathy for the kid who gets paid millions to play a game, like I don't have sympathy for Ruth Madoff "only" getting $2.5 million to live off of. There are plenty of hard working people who try to raise a family on $30,000 per year. He's a grown up and has to make grown up decisions like the rest of us.

Browns should have grabbed Ray Rice for his spot...and kick this dirt bag out.

I have to think the original post was sarcastic. Kid's a jerk and had been from the start. Mullet cork nailed it in previous post.

Let's also remember that his "University" allowed him to never take a on campus class, all his "classes" were online. Because they said he would disturb other students with his celebrity status.

"The saddest thing in life is wasted talent, and the choices that you make will shape your life forever."
- Calogero, "A Bronx Tale"

Best case now for Johnny Boy would be for a team, probably the Cowgirls, sign him to the NFL minimum for one year. Then with Jerry Jones' money of course, send him to Vienna and have a whole team of therapists examine him, adjust his meds and lecture him that it's bad for a boy to hit a girl. By year 2 he'll be able to compete with Clint Longley for the Cowgirls starting QB job.

He should have never left A&M...another year of maturing might have (perhaps) helped him...he did not need the NFL $$ and could have used maturing...now he's just a sad, sad caricature of what he could have become...

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...

is this true? And as a freshman? How is that not a bigger story as he could've had anyone do his assignments / take his tests, etc. It's like an easy get out of school free card.

You both beat me to it. My line was going to be:

"Usually when a pro athletes pisses his career away on drug and women, he'll at least wait until he has an actual career."

It was sarcastic. Johnnie Foitball should be held to the same standard as everyone else, including those who were raised the opposite of him.

Personal responsibility. It's what matters.

Can't bring myself to judge the guy. Given all his gifts, wealth and accomplishments, I doubt I'd be any less of a jerk than he is at that age.
Nah. Your parents probably taught you how to be responsible and that your actions carry consequences. Plus most likely manners and to never hit a girl, I know mine did. Johnny Boy's, Richie Rich parents taught him that he is entitled, there are no consequences for his actions and that manners or hitting a girl really aren't important as long as you have money. I know if I did anything like Johnny Boy did when he was screwing around in college my mom would have been on the first flight to kick my ass. Only now is his father voicing concern? Hey asshat where were you 3 yrs. ago. If I was the Cleveland Browns owner I would fire my entire front office for taking this numbskull with the 22nd pick.

The guy clearly has issues. He's dangerous to himself and others and in need some serious psychiatric care.

Lindsey Lohan and Gary Busey are laughing at him.

This might be the biggest meltdown in NFL history. I feel no sympathy for him for throwing his life away.

At the grocery store: "Sonny, Please be careful with those eggs when you bag them. Say aren't you that football player that went haywire in the NFL?" "Yes, that's me, used to be called johnny football, now just Johnny Bag Boy."

All he needed was a big bro while growing up to f*ck him up when he needed it.

Ryan leaf too. ;)

Is it nature? Is it nurture? there is no simple answer. Some people are haywire kind of from cradle to grave, some discover the haywire zone somewhere along the line... while there are others born into some utterly insane situations who seem to have an amazing internal compass - and survive horrible depraved or excessive circumstances.
Johnny Football is not just a screw-up ... he is probably dealing with some serious mental illness - whether he will establish control of himself & be able to consistently make wiser choices is unknown.

Please don't give the UNC administration any new ideas.

Now he can star in "The Longest Yard II"
Would be a very short movie. Goes to jail. Inmates know he beat a woman. They play house for a week or so. Then shank in the shower. Would never see the field.

The only saving grace he had was Texas A&M covering up for him as much as possible, and things STILL got leaked. Just think of all the nonsense we never heard about. SEC/Texas A&M was making too much money off of him to not cover up his garbage as much as possible.

The NFL is a business, they already make billions a year, you make them look bad and not have elite talent and they will just cut you every time.

He can be now used as a case study for what not to do from now on.

Can't even like someone who is just out for himself....thank god he's not a NY Giant...

At least Ryan Leaf has realized and acknowledged his issues, as evidenced by his contrition and sponsoring of counseling services for people with addictions. To put Johnny Douchbag in the same sentence with Leaf is an insult to Leaf.
