Considering that Harper is a SG/SF but around the same height as Deshawn Freeman and has a quirky looking shot/release, it's easy to think he can contribute somewhere next year....and it's easy to assume he won't play much or would redshirt.
On the surface, since he has some shooting ability, he immediately has to figure he lands on the floor most games next year, if he improves his conditioning and gets a more defined body. I'd like to think he's an immediate contributor seeing more minutes than Mensah/Bullock (if either or both are here) and in an OOC game against some smaller lineups, I can see him playing a lot vs playing a Myles Johnson when lineups are smaller/quicker from our opponents.
With regard to Myles Johnson, the last court club meeting mentioned Johnson (coming off a knee injury in 2016) has come down 22 pounds since his arrival on campus....fast forward another 6 to 8 months from now, and I'd like to think that conditioning and weight training would give Johnson a better chance to be in even better shape....Johnson actually has good shooting touch and played guard most of his life, until he kept growing taller.
I'd put down 8 PPG between the 2 of these players next year or replacing Candido Sa and assuredly more scoring than Mensah/Bullock can offer off the bench, if called on. A basket or two per game isn't unreasonable.
