At the RU game day event Julie Herman said (paraphrase)...

'I know its been a frustrating season and we appreciate the fans who came out today. Our focus right now is on winning the next 2 games and having a very real chance at a bowl'

This was a public statement made in front of a few hundred people so do not see any harm in posting. I find this a positive statement (or not negative for our wishes)...hoping after next week I hear more from here.

Thanx for sharing- That's pretty much what I would expect her to say at this point in time as our AD

She of course mentioned how great our wrestling and both soccer teams are doing. Urged people to help sell out Yurack today at 1pm, noting we already beat UConn this year. Said there's a lot to be proud of right now.

If I wasn't already going to Disney on Ice at Pru Center today I would head down to the Ladies soccer game.
Every RU sports fan should attend that game today (if they don't already have a commitment).

Thanks for the post . Seems like a reasonable thing for her to say. She doesn't have the luxury and coming on this board to post that she wants us to lose so she can fire the dudd

Would love to hear somebody say "we're not accepting a bowl at 5-7, period"

Heard a few folks "Giddie" about that possibility on the walk to the lot yesterday post game. really?

Saw her walk out of the stadium pre-game about 30 feet away and ALMOST made the mistake of yelling something out,,but was smart enough to take the high road there..

Exactly what she should have said. I wouldn't expect anything else from the schools athletic director, and a game, to a group of alumni who just attended the game.

Let's hope the decision doesn't rest on one game... again.

interesting--I heard from a long term, involved, donor who wants him out that rumor was he stays if he doesn't lose last two--his fear last night was that the army win may have saved him

But not smart enough to take the high road here?

I kid. I kid. [winking]

Exactly so, it would the third year in a row the guy keeps his job by one game. You can't keep a coach who is barely acceptable every year.

Exactly. But when the goal posts keep being moved this is what we get. In 2013 the bar was 6-6. Now, two years later which was supposed to be giving him enough time to get "his guys" recruited and infused into the program, the bar is 5-7? How the f#ck is that possible? Face it, there is a faction of the "old guard" alumni who want to keep Flood because he's a good guy and they are the ones spreading the poverty excuse as the reason why he should stay. Some people are comfortable and just hate change...even for the better...because it may impact their personal access to the team or other various selfish reasons.

"Rutgers...Mediocre [Revolutionary] for 250 Years"

I combine her comments with Barchi's and now I'm willing to lay down green and give odds that a MD win guarantees that Flood stays. Most (but not all) B10 schools would have given him a polite good bye. I don't blame Ms. Herman at all, she too is a victim of a toxic administration that sees big time football as something dirty.

Well this guy was wrong as Flood's fate was sealed before the Maryland game.
