Sporting my R, went up and said hi. She was, how shall I put it...unfriendly. Really stunning though. The team is headed to Birmingham for a game of some kind.

If you said Hi as in "We know each other" and she didn't know you, she might be standoffish. Did she say anything?

Why do people have unreasonable expectations about celebrities. You walk up to them as strangers and they are supposed to stop what they are doing and be "on" all the time. And when they are not, we somehow are deflated and disappointed.

I don't initiate talking to celebrities if I see one for that reason. Its unfair to judge Carli Lloyd or any other celebrity from these hit and run encounters. They do not know you. They cold be having a bad day. They may have a lot on their mind. They may be afraid if they engage you, you may want to stay for half an hour and chat like you are friends.

One of my favorite celebrity encounters was with Michael Douglas. I like his movies, and would consider myself a fan. I was hitting golf balls on the old edgewater driving range before they built all the condos, and it was a weekday with nobody there. A limo pulls up and out pops Douglas. I had seen him the night before on the show Politically incorrect and he was great. He grabbed his bag and parked it next to me on the range. I didn't say a word to him, went about my business of hitting balls. After about 20 minutes, he said something to me and we had a short and pleasant conversation. I mentioned I had seen him the night before on the show and he was more than happy to talk about it. We then both went about our business.

What do you think would have happened if I ambushed him the second he put down his bag?

Approach celebrities as you may, but be careful in judging them if they are not as nice as you want them to be.

Doesn't surprise me she was standoffish. With all the promotion RU did to get behind her and well wishes sent her way for the World Cup, did we ever see her acknowledge RU or the alumni once for thank for the well wishes? I didn't. She was a stark comparison to Todd Frazier.

Who knows if true but I know someone very into NJ HS girls soccer who stated she kind of regretted her choice of RU.

We all love Carli as an alum, but she isn't known for her personality.

Carli was fantastic on all the local programs, following the WC, I think she is just very shy, however, and the furthest thing there is from an "attention whore" athlete, which can come off as not having a great personality. Regarding the OP, well, maybe she was just tired?

she did play an international friendly(USA vs Haiti) last night ya know

Did not know she was shy. Makes sense though. I just said congrats and happy for her success.

Or for staying off her phone during an inspirational speech from a father about his sick daughter, all while sitting front row on national TV.

Don;t tell Pat Forde about this incident, he may forget all about her performance in the Women's World Cup and just make this reason 954 why Delany made a big mistake letting us into the B1G.

My real question is "What is a PSU professor who is an alleged Rutgers fan and claims to be going to the game tomorrow doing at the Detroit airport?"

Maybe meeting with Franklin way out of town
as 10 miles from campus isn't enough.

She's a board regular here and is familiar with your douchey posting history. Your reputation preceded you.

By the way, you spelled her name wrong too. It's Carli Lloyd.

Oh stop alibiing for celebrities and condoning loutish behavior. They should thank their lucky stars every day, and take a moment to be kind to a person who is part of the public that has made them wealthy and famous. Please cut the crap already.

Because I'm sure they've never done that.

Do you take the time to personally thank all the members of the public that contribute to whatever it is you do, or do you, every once in a while, just want to get to your damn plane seat and get on with your life?
