Yes he did but when is soon!!Pike on the radio after the game said we're getting 2 more guys real soon (meaning Ogbole and JWill)
That’s my pointYes he did but when is soon!!
Everyone knew Jeremiah Williams had eligibility questions. First of all, he was a second-time transfer at a time when that rule was unsettled so he might've had to sit out for that. And then the gambling stuff on top of that.So maybe Fernandes wasn’t in the plan to play starters minutes after all…but was thrust into that role with the Williams’ injury recovery/eligibility issues?
I thought the same thing.Because the Rutgers Athletics Dept. doesn‘t make enough noise and doesn’t have the right representation. If we defy the NCAA, what are they going to do … vacate wins?

That said, this board's ability to quickly anoint yet another player our best option based on minimal playing time is second to none. This guy is a step beyond, though, since he hasn't even played yet.. . . Theirs a real chance Jeremiah is the best overall guard we have
We knew definitively that we were losing McConnell, and it was highly unlikely Mag would be ready to go at the start of the season. It was unknown if Mulcahy would be returning.I believe Fernandes was one of our top transfer targets and committed we'll before anyone else.
He committed before Mulcahy and Spencer left.
I believe it was always the intention he was coming in as a likely starter.
J Williams was always believed to start the year our and likely miss the entire year.
A Williams was brought in to challenge/unseat Simpson as a start.
How could things possibly move this slowly for the decision-making ?There are a bunch of former Iowa athletes waiting on a decision. Ahron Ulis on Nebraska for example.
Glad you recapped that sequence for us. It makes sense from Pike’s perspective, the way everything unfolded. We knew definitively that we were losing McConnell, and it was highly unlikely Mag would be ready to go at the start of the season. It was unknown if Mulcahy would be returning.
Fernandes was definitely brought in to start, likely alongside Spencer, Mulcahy, Hyatt, and Omoruyi. He was seen as a quick point guard with good outside shooting, that could complement both Spencer and Mulcahy.
We didn't go after the Williams' in the portal until after Spencer entered his name in the portal, followed by Mulcahy. We desperately needed another guard with size, and took what we could get.
I agree with all except PM being in the starting lineup part. Pike saw the slow plodding offense of the previous 2-3 years and wanted faster movement down the court. PM was going to be moved to a third guard or forward position in my opinion and was probably discussed as the first player off the bench. No way you were losing a McConnell and not having a speedy/stalwart defender on the perimeter. Fernandes, Spencer, Hyatt and Mulcahy would not have cut it.We knew definitively that we were losing McConnell, and it was highly unlikely Mag would be ready to go at the start of the season. Classic that he has been anointed our best guard. Let’s see him play first, have we learned no lessons based upon what this year’s team has actually looked like on the court in actual games? I hope he is our best guard, but I’ll take a believe it when I see it on the court approach. That said, this board's ability to quickly anoint yet another player our best option based on minimal playing time is second to none. Without a healthy Mag, Mulcahy would have started at the beginning of the season. With Mag back, he'd have been fighting Spencer / Fernandes / Simpson for a starting guard role.I agree with all except PM being in the starting lineup part. Simpson would have started even with that group.
GO RU
Because you are judging Shannon guilty when he may be innocent. If he is innocent, why should he be kept from playing? A federal judge ruled that he wasn’t getting due process. How does Shannon get back on the court faster than J Will.
That is bat shit.
Dude.Because you are judging Shannon guilty when he may be innocent. If he is innocent, why should he be kept from playing? A federal judge ruled that he wasn’t getting due process.
If he is guilty, then he should be punished accordingly. But why do you want to prejudge him?
The woman claims he grabbed her by the p*ssy in a crowded bar. In Kansas, that is considered rape. Shannon says he didn’t do it. The DNA they collected doesn’t match him. It will play out in court, but if he is innocent, they would have taken away his whole season that he can’t get back.
Seriously, is it guilty until proven innocent for you?
Yes it's official...officially in limbo. All this rumor and innuendo is ridiculous.
