Looking more and more like Michigan may not be the destination. Heard from a great source yesterday. Pitt will be very involved through an assistant coach there.
I guess that's a positive for Rutgers (not having to play him or being in the league). Thanks.Looking more and more like Michigan may not be the destination. Heard from a great source yesterday. Pitt will be very involved through an assistant coach there.
We have a shot @RU72 ?Looking more and more like Michigan may not be the destination. Heard from a great source yesterday. Pitt will be very involved through an assistant coach there.
He couldn’t get in. I believe he wanted to be at Michigan still.Guessing the lore of playing for Howard is diminishing quickly
They said it was the TOEFL test, where RU does have lower standards than Michigan. If it is based on academics - I think it was stated in another thread that UM and RU have the same standards do not sure we can get him here IF that is the reason.
Nothing to do with Juwan.Look out for Maryland and Pitt. They said it was the TOEFL test, where RU does have lower standards than Michigan.
Our minimum TOEFL requirement is 79. Michigan's is 90.If it is based on academics - I think it was stated in another thread that UM and RU have the same standards do not sure we can get him here IF that is the reason.
Absolutely.Nothing to do with Juwan.Look out for Maryland and Pitt.
Not sure if there's also a NY Rens guy at Pitt, but according to what Papa Kante said in interviews before committing to Michigan, his guy at Memphis is Andy Borman, (formerly the executive director of the Rens), and his guy at Pitt is Gilbert Brown (formerly an associate coach at Kante's South Kent high school.) (Kante's five finalists prior to committing to Michigan were Michigan, Rutgers, Maryland, Pitt, and Memphis.)I've heard that his former AAU coach @ NY Rens is now an assistant at Pitt so he has a connection. Hopefully the Gavin connection is stronger than his Pitt connection and we can bring him back into the fold.
If pike made an exception for Hyatt, he would make an exception for kante
That’s the one positive , he will be out of the big ten.I guess that's a positive for Rutgers (not having to play him or being in the league). Thanks.
NoThought we basically finished 2nd to Michigan for him. Should position us well, no?
To think for a second that pike would hurt his teams chances this year because of his ego is sillyThink coaches take this stuff far less personally than the fans.
The number of players who visit a school, then go elsewhere for a year or two, then transfer to that school they visited as a High Schooler makes me agree.Think coaches take this stuff far less personally than the fans.
Better chances at SEC/Big East schools.Michigan comments seem to attribute it to failure to qualify academically. Not sure if he’d qualify at Rutgers if that’s the case.
see above..............Michigan comments seem to attribute it to failure to qualify academically. Not sure if he’d qualify at Rutgers if that’s the case.

dude can go look on the Michigan board for info but can't read this threadHe didn’t score well enough on the TOEFL.
Well we know this isn't trueNobody on this board knows where Kante is going at this point. It is fun to speculate but as usual some posters have "inside info". lol
My speculation is Kante is coming to RU and his relationship with Gavin is a big reason. And that is why Baye has not signed. Total guess.
Just sharing what’s being said from the Michigan fan base. Didn’t realize that would be upsetting to you.dude can go look on the Michigan board for info but can't read this thread
