Karl Hobbs talking to Ewing/Georgetown?

CVS needs to ride off into the sunset but that's not happening either.
Louis Orr would be a great hire for Ewing. Hobbs would be as well, but I would be surprised if Hobbs would make a lateral move to a lesser conference at this point. If he stays at RU another year and things go well, he will have the opportunity to be a head coach again.
My friend played for Louis Orr at SH. He absolutely loved playing for him. Quality guy.
Penn State and Nebraska have been in the Big Ten a lot longer than Rutgers and have already received the huge revenue that goes along with being in this conference. So why do their basketball program still suck? And why is Rutgers guaranteed to be better? And on what planet would the Villanova basketball program yearn to be more like RU? Last I checked, their program is making money hand-over-fist and Jay Wright is compensated handsomely.

Other than having some of the best high school talent in the country within a two hour driving radius from campus and RU basketball being in the BIG conference with a capable athletics administration that has a quality coaching staff in place should be important factors in turning around the program. No guarantees for RU basketball but it definitely has yet to fulfill its potential.

A assistant coach visiting another school on Easter Sunday is a rather ominous sign that Hobbs likes Washington,DC.
Time to promote Brandon to #1 assistant and give a little more $.

If Hobbs leaves, I would expect the two other assistant coaches to get a upgrade in pay and the third assistant coach filled internally and or with a outsider at a lower pay range.Pikiell needs to have some stability in the coaching staff and at least one of the coaches must be a closer in recruiting.
His wife still lives in the DC suburb of Bowie, Maryland. So my guess is that Hobbs was spending time with the wife and kids then went over to GU

Yikes! This must be a RU trend since the departed RU head coach's wife stayed in the DC area and stared on the Housewives of the Potomac.

The gig is between Paul Hewitt and Karl Hobbs....both have extensive ties to the DC/MD area and families that currently live in the DC area....neither coach is taking the job because of money, both have earned a lot of money over their coaching careers and are excellent choices to help Ewing adjust to the college game............Whether it's Hobbs or Hewitt it is yet again, a lesson to RU fans crying the blues, but it is an excellent sign that we have staff members that are being pursued by other programs.

FWIW-I heard Hobbs is staying at RU. Also heard Shammond Williams, assistant at Western Kentucky, former assistant at Tulane and former player at North Carolina is being courted by Ewing.

Didn't Georgetown just fire a coach that was 278-151 with a Final Four and 8 NCAA tournament appearances? Have the last 5 RU coaches combined won that many games?
