Appreciate the fact that more people are realizing how crazy some fans sound when they bash a recruit for not choosing their school

You know what else is crazy: a nation of adults who follow high school kids tweets so closely they report on them within minutes (unless you get paid to do so...). Just my opinion.

BTW - I don't necessarily disagree with the kid, but, people are heavily invested in this stuff, both financially and emotionally, so it always has, and always will, be a part of the recruiting game. Now, some cross the line, no doubt, and that's completely unnecessary IMHO.

Isn't it also crazy how easily kids commit and de-commit these days? Would love to see stats how much its increased in last 5 years. They need a new system for recruiting - maybe sign LOIs earlier?

Maybe you don't know how Twitter works...when you open it up, the Tweet is right there staring you in the face. So, when something of interest pops up that is relevant to this board or the recruiting season that we are in.......it may get posted. There are lots of recruiting updates on Twitter...more than what you can locate on this board or the paid board.

Uhm, I DO "know how Twitter works" considering the fact that I'm on it, thanks, but I still find it "crazy" that adults feel the need to hang onto every word a teenager has to say and, within minutes, post it to a message board. You're more than welcome to, don't get me wrong, just not my thing I guess. [cheers]

I assume he's talking about the immediate Twitter reactions to Haskins......they were really emotional.....

We have at least 1 poster here on the board that follows all the teenage boys. He reads their profiles and analyzes everything from punctuations to background images. He then reports here whether he feels they will commit, decommit or reaffirm their commitment based on said analysis. I find that excessive and a little creepy.

+1000. If you follow high school recruits and tweet at them and follow their every move you are a freakin loser. That goes for any school

It's quite simple if these guys don't want praise and/or backlash from fans they should make their twitter accounts private. They love all the attention until it turns against them.

Or until they say they are doing one thing, then don't.

I am surprised a highly recruited kid like him would care either way. Just do your think Kelvin.

If you put yourself out there, expect people to comment to extreme levels -- both good and bad.

Don't like it, get a desk job and stay off social media.

He is right. No need to bash a kid and no need to bash our coaches and the kids who decide to stay. Those who bash on the internet are WEAK.

I remember the reaction on this board to JG going to Tenn......that's the only reason I posted this thread. It was to jog some memories on the ridiculous comments about JG.

or league drafts...now that their practically paid and some schools have too big an advantage making it an unfair system..or lets make the rich richer..

I think Nuts knows Twitter intimately. If I'm not mistaken, he used it to have conversations with himself when he wasn't posting here.

Or was it Facebook?

The irony here is that Harmon most likely doesn't end up at Rutgers and there will probably be a few from here bashing him on twitter.

Adult (coach) having a sleep over at a recruit house - EXTREMELY CREEPY
Difference is he can offer a scholarship, you can't and have no impact on a recruits future, especially when you lack a sense of humor.

Its not just fans.

Pretty sure most people on twitter are aholes. Its like going to a bar and then complaining theres too many drunk people there.

Thats why I avoid it.

I think the scoop is that he wants to go to a school in the south. I think NCState is in the lead

There are a lot of "social" advantages to going to a school in the old south. It is still the highest concentration of Black Americans in the country.....Harmon can play good football and have a great social life....we should not under estimate that fact.

Disagree. People can go to a bar and have a drink and not get drunk, or act in an inane fashion. Just like people can be on social media without being antisocial. Neither being in a bar nor being on twitter is a license to act like a fool. It's just that some choose to do so.
