Kennesaw State loses by 17

KSU has 2 losses, both away games. We did them a huge favor playing them in their band box.

UC Irvine is undefeated.

Against us, freshman Jamil Miller for KSU played 34 min, had 16 points and 10 rebounds (led the team in all 3 areas). Against UC Irvine, he played 27 minutes with 5 points and 4 rebounds. Go figure.

Just because they beat us by 2pts does not make them automatically a great team. They came out on fire and we pretty much stood around letting them have their way in front of their fans for fuel. The second half pretty much shows how different the true talent was even though we came up bit short. Young team blues providing a wake up call. We have obviously played a hell of a lot better since with superior teams.

If we don’t waste having a once in multiple generations player and make the tournament that disaster of a game will cost us a seed line.

Final score from the Western Slam in Alberta, Canada:

UC-Irvine 76
Kennesaw 59
This is what happens when you allow an inferior opponent to blow you out in the first half by 18. If we were down by 6-8 points, we win that game comfortably. Pike MUST get these kids to play a full 40 minutes of basketball, not 20 minutes like they did against Kennesaw. (Fixed it.)

Surely you meant “not 20 minutes like they did against KENNESAW STATE.”

Wasn’t the Bama game tied at the half?

That’s what happens when you aren’t mentally (or strategically) ready to play. If we defend the 3 point line, don’t get out-rebounded by 20, or play like we did in the 2nd half, we win easily. Not smart scheduling at all either.

That loss to Kennesaw State might be the football equivalent of Notre Dame losing at home to Northern Illinois. It’s like it never happened.

Kennesaw can be explained away when they win their conference and everyone on the committee knows it was a game for Ace, and the consensus on college basketball twitter was more that they were happy a P5 went on the road to a mid major, than blaming us for it. Anyone with basketball sense could have seen that a loss was very possible in that one.
Be more happy that in other years, especially under the previous 2 coaches, we would have also lost the St Petes and Monmouth games this year

They beat Towson, (6-2) now, playing Kent St today. They have Georgia St, Santa Clara and San Jose St. They are in the CUSA, who is currently in the 9-12 range of conferences. They will stay a Q3 if not move to Q2, the NET isn't even out yet. It will mean nothing at the end of the season.
