This has been the biggest difference this year. Our shooting has not gotten better. Overwelming rebounding is a tremendous advantage and can overcome sizable scoring flaws. If we keep this pase we will really surprise our constituents in the B1G. Very exciting times.

We have one now though. Attention to detail, clearly put work in the fitness/weight department, team play on offense and defense, effort...it's all there. Above all, winning. And winning is fun. Things will get rougher once conference play starts, but already we can see where this program is headed. If Pike can recruit some blue chip talent, look out.

Words of a madman stealing 1.2 million from Rutgers per year, after a 29 point home loss to seton hall when we were outrebounded 53-32. The man had a lot of nerve collecting his paycheck and feeding us that line of bullshit after an asswhooping on the boards like that.
Stop with the bashing already. He came here when few would because he loves Rutgers. The man cared to the point after we beat Wisconsin that he was in tears. Say what you want about his college coaching but he bled Scarlet.

This a joke? He absolutely took a bad pr situation and made it worse by his horrendous coaching. 7 basketball wins against the teams he played against. Not recruiting full rosters? Justin Goode?
I think you're wrong. He brought in Shoes who helped us get Corey Sander, Nigel Johnson, Laurent, Freeman, and Thiam. Say what you want about his coaching. He didn't leave the cupboard bare.
When Eddie came on board there were three scholarship players on the roster.
He wasn't a college coach. But he brought in four Rivals top 150 players plus Doorson who was a four star on other sites (Rivals doesn't rate foreign players often). This program is absolutely in a better position.
Don't you think that having 5 players 6'9" and above versus one (who was not a great rebounder) last year is responsible for part of the improvement? Or having a full bench (versus 6 players) so players can bust their butts when on the court knowing that someone can come in and give them a blow?
Jordan sucked. He had a poor roster after 3 years and couldnt Coach them. Any BIG10 Coach should be able to recruit a few quality players without even trying. It's a different story in bringing in enough pieces and being able to Coach them.
Pikiell has filled in some of the holes and is coaching them up. This team isn't that good but they are enjoyable to watch. They play hard and they appear to be well coached. The team isnt the cluster f $^#^ we've had the last three years under Jordan.

Your hatred of Eddie playing with a depleted roster is over the top and out of line. Yeah he was a NBA coach who did not fit in college but also could do little in practice or having 6'2 " guys guarding 6'9" guards with no depth. Get over it. He is a loyal son and bleed Scarlet. We have a real good college coach that was given purse strings to hire 2 $300,000 top assistants that have made Eddie's players better and added great contributors. Your the ass if you accept the crappy coaching that Eddie gave us. The program was in worse shape than what Eddie was handed when Pikiell took over. I went to the RAC on Sunday and for the first time in 3 years i felt awesome walking out of the gym because I watched a decent team on the floor. I lost all hope with Jordan. The only asses are the people who accept jokes of coaches and the teams they assemble. If he wasn't going to put together a good program he shouldn't have accepted the job.
Let's talk about his depleted roster. 2 of the injured last year we're Doorson and Diallo. How many minutes are they getting this year. Why didnt we have 12 or 13 on our roster and why was someone like Justin Goode on our roster Did you look at Jordan's roster last year, year 3 on the job. World beaters, huh? He took a crappy situation and made it worse.
RU_DIO your comments lead me to believe you are young and ignorant of facts. As was stated a few things you seem to be ignoring are 1. Number of Schollie players on hand. 2. Number of players he had where he could actually try to coach. 3. The fact that he did fill the roster with some pretty good talent. As goru 7 said he may have tried coaching these kids like he coached in the pros. It didnt work for him. He is gone so give it a rest and stop and think what your posting before actually posting
Actually I'm not freaking young. I've watched this shit show for the last 25 years and am pissed my 10 and 12 year old stopped wanting to go to games the last three years. I was happy that my kids liked going on Sunday for the first time in a long time.
It's a coaches job to put together a program and he didn't. He sucked the life out of the program and most of the fan base.

Well after reading your reply to goru and myself I will now add my thought that 1. You cant read or comprehend what you read. Nowhere in goru post did he say he accepted the results of EJ coaching. Also its a sign of a small person who in trying to make some points feels like he has to demean others totry to get said point across. You may not be young but you do com off as immature.

The guy who makes the NCAA basketball rankings said Rutgers is better than North Carolina in something pertaining to basketball, and our fans start being negative and fighting with one another about who's fault it is why we are so bad, while we're 5-0. Okay!

I think your immature because of how you word your posts and responses. Serious question for you. At work or at home if your not happy with your boss or co workers performance or your wife's cooking or the kids report cards do you talk to them in the same manner you post about things you are not happy with on this forum. Do you tell them they suck and are doing a crappy job. I will give you the benefit of the doubt here and say you don't. If I am correct then why would you do it on a forum about someone you don't know.
Also if you had the chance to talk to EJ face to face would you talk and tell him what you think in the same manner in which you have been bashing him with your words on here. Doubt it.

That comment seems so low energy-like many of his team (then again sorry-though I wanted Eddie as coach-I only saw 1-2 games for free if that because those teams were frankly boring).

It's the tone of your criticism of EJ--like a high school kid who feels a need to visciously bash someone to make himself feel big and badass.
EJ deserves criticism for sure, but not so savagely. He got handed Rice's mess and he could not shape it into a competitive program. He made a lot of mistakes and approached his job like an NBA coach...a big mistake. The one thing he did do, however, was bring in some talented kids for Coach P to work with and supplement with his own good players. EJ just wasn't a good college coach. But, he is a loyal son of Rutgers who I think should be treated with a little better respect.
Agreed. What is the point of continuing to bash EJ, who was a great player and is a loyal son? You still trying to play Gotcha with the few on the board who wanted to give EJ one more year? If the anti-Jordan people want to start a thread in which they can bash EJ to their heart's content, how about one calleH called Thank God and Greyhound he's Gone and the rest of us will not go there. Just be happy and not fret about EJ, Mike Rice or FHJ.

Very well said. I never pulled harder for a coach to succeed at RU than I did for Jordan, because he was such a great player, here, and a great assistant with Wenzel. Unfortunately, he just couldn't get it done, but he did leave Pikiell with some good talent, which he has worked wonders with, so far. Jordan needed to be canned, but to treat him so brutally is just wrong.
Shaq is a one star right now..if him and Diablo don't improve (they should theoretically) I could see where more scholarships could come from.
You mean the coach didn't coach him up? Funny that the good players are coached up but others are just not talented. We are 6-0 and all fans should focus on that. No need to be negative. Enjoy the success everyone.
