Knight Announced

Facilities up next.
When all is said and done the Hobbs hiring will be viewed as one of the most significant hires in Rutgers athletics history. It reinforces the idea that it all starts with outstanding leadership and competence at the top and having a vision for the program..

Um, no. He chose Pitt over FDU. We never offered. Knight had an unremarkable freshman season and then exploded to a higher level of play. Many lamented that it was an unpardonable sin to pass on him after so many did the same with his older brother Brevin, who established that template when Stanford plucked him from NJ after he too didn't get much interest from local high majors.

Thanks for that! (Was I thinking of a kid that chose Nova?)

I believe so. John Celestand certainly got the booing treatment when he was at Nova. So did Troy Murphy when he was at ND. Nobody else got it quite like those two. There was an effort to get that going with Todd Billet when he came back to the RAC with Virginia, but he was hot shooting early en route to a Virginia blowout win so it kind of took the wind right out of the sails. Plus, a lot of people, me included, didn't think it was a terrible decision on his part to transfer. He didn't have enough talent around him at RU and there was no cavalry on the horizon.

Without a doubt this is the BEST staff of assistants Rutgers has ever had. I am truly excited about Pikiell and his team and see who they can get to build depth on the bench plus a full year to recruit for 2017. It's been a very long time since I was excited about Rutgers BB again.
