seeing the guys in low tops scares me...
I stopped when I got to the pic of Eli Carter sitting there with his broken foot.
Would just love it if they all wore the same kicks. Looks so much more cohesive. I hate when we stroll 5 guys out onto the court, 4 of them have the same scarlet red sneakers and the 5th clown has like all black or something.
I think most ankle injuries are caused by stepping on another guys foot when you land and twisting/spraining it. Not sure if high tops will ever prevent that injury any more than a good tape job and low tops could.
Exactly how I broke my ankle. Was wearing low top chuck Taylor's. Don't know if high tops would have helped. Wore high tops from that point on to play bball.I think most ankle injuries are caused by stepping on another guys foot when you land and twisting/spraining it. Yes, me too! I have a long history of rolling my ankles between football and basketball, to the point where every time they drive to the hole, I'm physically cringing at home.seeing the guys in low tops scares me...

(I broke my ankles playing basketball in high school..one each my Soph and Junior year so I get the willies seeing low tops or Chick Taylors LOL). )
I think Freeman wears them too, no?Corey has been wearing these this season....
Frankly the choices that Nike gives RU aren't exactly high profile. Just standard team stuff.
So, the guys are wearing what's comfortable to them. As a fellow sneaker head, I can relate to that desire.
They are as much a "fashion statement" these days as they are for performance on the court.
As long as they are within the general color scheme, I'm good with whatever shoe choices the kids make.
Gettys is wearing Jordan XI's. The greatest Jordan sneaker.Corey has been wearing these this season....

I wear asics. They are black and white. Just in case anyone wanted to know.
I wear socks,too!
High tops do not offer any more protection against broken ankles than low. If it's going to break, it will break. It's all a mental thing. A little like a belt for heavy lifting, all mental.Sprained and even broke my ankle wearing high tops. These kids get taped. I am not sure high tops would add that much protection at that point.
