I admit that I don't know much about the sport having just started watching RU games on BTN last season but I am interested in any of the experts comments on this game. My daughter is a freshman at Fairfield and its not a school we play often, Last I looked they were ranked 20th so they have a competitive team. Anyone with any insight??

This could be a tough game o. The road as it was close for awhile last year and then we pulled away from them a little. I feel like we have better athletes and have an advantage in the goal, but once again it will depend on the face off X we win if we can be 50% there. The way our offense plays we make it tough on the opposing defenses. We are also getting good offensive play out of the as d-mids and better tyan average play out of the replacements on attack. We may not have as much of an advantage in conditioning as we are only really play four offensive middies, as Eletti and Meade are only seeing spot time o. The second midfield.

Anyone know if there is any way to watch this game on TV or online?

When I found out the game is televised live on Lax Soccer Net

When I then learned LSN requires a paid subscription :weary:

In any case, RU Twitter feed is good. Also - the Gametracker is from the Fairfield side, and huge improvement over the typical Gametrackers.

Who is #55 for Rutgers? Groel?

If I am reading the stats right he has 7 ground balls.

Nice hustle, #55!

Nice road victory. Hopefully helps when NCAA tourney selection comes around.

How does your daughter like it up there so far?

She likes it a lot. She was not interested in a big school. She loves the area and is doing very well academically. My current advice to parents that are looking at colleges is resist the temptation to find the most prestigious school and instead try to find the school your student can excel at. So far it looks like we have found that at Fairfield. Let me know if you are interested in specific info about the school.

I have family there now. Nephew is a senior majoring in Engineering. He seems to like it too.

We plan a visit hopefully this Spring as my older guy is a junior. He is thinking Engineering too.

Suffocating, physical defense. I think we got a shot at Brown playing this defense and transition offense is something they can't surprise us with.

When I saw Fairfield on the schedule, I didn't think much about it but one of the posters above was right when he said it's a respectable program. I did some checking and found that Fairfield was 4th in the ARV in the USILA poll, which ranks just 20 teams. That's the one where RU is currently 14th.

In the final 2016 RPI standings, Fairfield finished 23rd. RU was 21st, so I guess defeating JHU twice didn't help us all that much with RPI or the NCAA.

In any event, today's win looks even better after seeing this information.

First things first...TCB game vs Wagner. Good thing we play them next...Fairfield would've been a Trap Game for sure if they were before Brown.
Agreed! Side note, Stony Brook beat Brown today. We have a solid OOC schedule this year.

Too funny from the Brown site. Stony Brook controlled the pace of the game and wouldn't let Brown's offense get going…hmmmm 42 goals

My daughter will be leading tours by then. Very nice campus.
