We are getting extremely close to having lacrosse in the Olympics. It's obviously going to be a much different version than the college field game or even the PLL, but it will be great to see any version being played under the Olympic banner.

How would it be different in the Olympics?

6 on 6, smaller field, after a score the goalie takes the ball from the goal and puts it immediately in play, much like you would do in basketball after a basket. Also, there is no such thing as running a shot out. If you shoot and and it doesn't hit an opposing player/goalie, it's a turnover. Again, like basketball.

Rosters are smaller and outside of a couple of guys, you really want do it all midfielder types. No long pole either.

Why the wholesale changes? Does this version look like anything played today (in the world)?

field space and roster sizes. the smaller roster size will allow more countries to compete

Family covered it. Traditionalists aren't going to love it but if we wanted to see lacrosse in the Olympics, this was the only way.
