Have you ever done the drive from San Diego to Vegas? How is it (scenic, boring)?

Nope. I'm flying. This will only be my 2nd time in Vegas. First time I went to a friend's brother's bachelor party when I was in college and they were all super rich and paid for VIP everything so I never wanted to go back and experience Vegas as a normie 🤣

While true, if RU were to play Creighton or San Diego St ... or Texas A&M,. there could be excellent NET at play. Creighton was 11th in the NET last year, San Diego St was 21st .... Texas A&M was 45th. Creighton and Texas A&M are ranked in the top 20 pre-season THIS year. So still opportunities for quality games - and maybe a better chance to win.

Would it be better if RU could get a win over a team ranked from #15 to #30, or a loss to a Top 5 Houston? I figure it would be much more likely RU gets a win vs a team other than Houston, and likely lose against Houston. But who knows if RU gets ANY wins, even over Notre Dame?

I am not @bac2therac and not as expert as him, but from what I have seen through the years and learned, I really think having the Houston game, win or lose, is of more value for NCAA tournament seeding purposes. It’s a great bump for OOC SOS and carries weight. Wins obviously help but if Houston were to be a legit top 5 team across the metrics, that carries a lot of weight.

Smart Arab oil nations are trying real hard to spend their money and diversify for a possible future without oil. I am not sure how sports figures in it.. but I suppose they have a plan.

I did Phoenix to SD and back. I found it boring to disgusting.. Phoenix had a smog issue that week... hard to see inside the area.. but coming from San Diego... wow.. yellowy-gray-green blob on the horizon.

It is better to beat a quality opponent on a neutral site, than lose to a top 5 team on a neutral site. Whoever we would play in the third game would be a quality opponent.

Yes....Houston for some odd reason even in the AAC has managed to be a NET darling. Rutgers will still het value from a Creighton or San Diego State game but the Houston one even in a loss would be a NET bounty
