Laurent won't play vs. Maryland

Well that does make things look more doom and gloomy .
But on the bright side, the walkons should get plenty of playing time, though none of them is 6'.

Sunday night I was told, by a reliable source close to Laurent, there was a good chance that he might not play against Maryland.

Tough break for Jonathan and for Rutgers.

Last night Wisconson-Indiana had the tempo down to 62 possessions. We must take the air out of the ball and will end up relying on Sanders and Daniels. Fortunately Maryland isn't a killer on the boards.

Sanders 32 Daniels 8
Williams 16 Daniels 24
Grier 4 Williams 16 Goode 20
Foreman 12 Grier 28
Lewis 26 Foreman 14

sanders 32
Daniels 32
Williams 32
Grier 32
lewis 26
Foreman 26
Goode 20

At least that's what I'd do. 4 minutes in to the game I'd sub in Daniels and Goode for Grier and Foreman. I'd think/hope this opens up Goode for minutes.

this is true...we must go Fred Hill style at this point. If RU tries running with Maryland, its going to be extremely embarrassing and the score will wind up 85-40. Need to just bite the bullet for this one and as you say just slow everything down and limit possessions and try to keep it to the 65-40 range

I am all for running our offense, make and using screens and making good hard cuts......however looking at our team's pieces we are almost as efficient offensively having Sanders and Daniels with 6 seconds left on the shot clock taking their man off the dribble and looking for the 15 foot shot or the pass to the perimeter for a 3 point shot. Ugly basketball, but gives us a chance to be in the game with 10 minutes to go. Sanders and Daniels are very tough to stay in front of.

Four corners, baby! And hit the foul shots to keep it respectable. Say, lose by 14. Otherwise ... something like 73-42.

This team does not have the discipline to do something like that.

Better to have him healthy for Nebby at home on Sat. This game isn't realistically winnable with or without him (given all our other injuries).

Ummmm Running with a bench 2 deep?

is it too late to add anymore players as walk-ons? Any big seniors on the football team not looking to go NFL?

It's easy for me to be patient with Eddie because I know he's dealing with some rough trials this year. He's working hard and he's working hungry.

Time for some open tryouts for the team. Does EJ get a pass this year on a lowest of the low season seeing as we'll be lucky to dress 5 players by the time the season is over?

Definitely a pass. Built in excuse, but we knew he's back next year anyway. Next year is the year of deciding if he gets extension or gets let go, being year four of five year deal.. Coaches don't usually play out last year of deal, it's extension or termination after next year

We need to have a big crowd show-up vs. NEB at home whether we get crushed tonight or not. Time to stop whining and support the RU players and have the fans take back the RAC.

we have the seen the decisions made with bannon, Waters, Hill after year 3 so depending on what the contract says, I worry about an extension.

he gets a pass but lets put out the fact that he lost Ryan Johnson, Junior Etou, and Tejuan Johnson to transfer...now while its been said that two of them whether the two unknowns were any good we don't know, although they also get praised when they come aboard and downgraded to no big loss when they leave. So that's a pretty big numbers loss which could have helped this year. I guess Grier did come and took up one of those spots

What, we wouldn't get that 1 victory most of us expect in conference play this season?

true dat...look the injuries suck but at most even with Freeman this team wasn't winning more than 3...I still think we get that one though and it could come against Nebby but if not look for it at the end of the year vs Minny if little Pitino still cant have them going in the right direction
