5-5...awful..,we need to be AHEAD Multiple goals, at the half, or we could be in big trouble the way we tend to play in the 2nd half.
Do you find this acceptable? I highly doubt it. Said this was game going to be a problem early in the week.

I’ll take it. We’re IN the tourney ON OUR TURF. Now @Caliknight needs to hire a team shrink for 30 days and get us a B1G Yorke and to the Final 8.
We tried everything we could to give the game away and still won it. That says a lot about us actually. The conference in incredibly even this year anyone can beat anyone on any given day
Say what you want, but that was very sloppy play. Michigan is terrible and we should have won by at least 4. I’m also tired of hearing anyone can beat anyone. Maybe we’ll have some luck in the tournament. I don’t think we’ve fully clinched yet. Hopkins needs to get 3 wins. Not sure what a 3 way tie would result in
NO killer instinct, period. Up 9-6 at home should’ve won easily.
I thought the announcers said we are in good shape in the event of a 3-way tie due to goal differential compliments of our win over OSU. I could have heard them wrong.
This. Doesn’t make sense for it to be a total conference goal differential makes complete sense for it to be the goal differential between the three teams that are tied.
If just ONE of these things happens, we’re in without having to worry about getting into a 3-way tie situation.

I could easily see none of those happening.
Even if for some crazy reason the tiebreaker is based on overall score in conference...
Johns Hopkins (2-1) is at +7, but if they fall to a three way tie that will be +5 or worse.
Rutgers (2-2) is at +5, with PSU to come.
Ohio State (1-3) is at a dismal -13. They only beat Hopkins by one and lost to Maryland by one, but lost to us by 8 and to Penn State by 5.
Advantage RU by +18. That'd require a massive margin in both games.

Good work doing those calculations. So barring an extreme disaster we’re in really good shape to be playing on 5/2 on our home field.
If it was goal differential in only games amongst the three teams we would already have clinched because all games have been played between the three.
I think RPI is the tie breaker after goal differential if I recall correctly. But as Trumpet showed it’s highly unlikely it comes to that.
The tiebreaker graphic was displayed on the scoreboard at the game today.

So if JHU loses in both by large margins and we keep it close, we could be 3rd seed and playing Maryland again. Obviously I would prefer we just beat Penn State but the thought of being 3rd seed is surprising as most on this board did not think we would even make tournament.

I dont want to be that guy, but if history is any indication we have to assume that every scenario we need to go our way will NOT go our way. I would feel much better if we win the next game.
Get into the Big Ten tournament on our turf and then maybe the team can start playing a little more freely and with some swagger. It's actually pretty remarkable given that we're in good shape to make the tournament. I'm so relieved and happy for these guys. There's enough talent on this team that once things start clicking we could be a real threat in the post season.
