You’re too kind, sir. Ohio State played Maryland tougher than RU did.As a Maryland fan I don't want to see you guys again!

Final score today: PSU 20, JHU 9.Even if for some crazy reason the tiebreaker is based on overall score in conference...
Johns Hopkins (2-1) is at +7, but if they fall to a three way tie that will be +5 or worse.
Rutgers (2-2) is at +5, with PSU to come.
Ohio State (1-3) is at a dismal -13. They only beat Hopkins by one and lost to Maryland by one, but lost to us by 8 and to Penn State by 5.
I think the goal differential is to break the three way tie once that is broke I believe it goes back to head to head. which would mean that we would be the three seed and if Hopkins loses to UMD then they would be out, which would mean that we would play UMD in the Tourney.Final score today: PSU 20, JHU 9.
Johns Hopkins (2-2) goal differential in conference is now -4.
RU +5
OSU -13
If the tiebreaker is head to head goal differential and we finish in a three way tie, it will be:
RU +6 (beat OSU by 8, lost to JHU by 2)
JHU +1 (beat RU by 2, lost to OSU by 1)
OSU -7 (lost to RU by 8, beat JHU by 1)
There’s apparently a 3-goal per game limit as far as the tiebreaker, per the graphic BTN showed also as if this wasn’t confusing enough.I think the goal differential is to break the three way tie once that is broke I believe it goes back to head to head. which would mean that we would be the three seed and if Hopkins loses to UMD then they would be out, which would mean that we would play UMD in the Tourney.
I heard that which would put JHU at plus 1 and RU at plus 1 and OSU at minus 2 and they would be out. That is really BS as RU should be the top team and it should be head to head between OSU and JHU. If that is true you may see OSU get into the tourney without getting into the B1G ten tourney. If this is true this will also probably force RU to play PSU two weeks in a row. There’s apparently a 3-goal per game limit as far as the tiebreaker, per the graphic BTN showed also as if this wasn’t confusing enough.
Completely weak, agreed. Sounds like a 1st grade baseball game with a 5 run limit per inning.I heard that which would put JHU at plus 1 and RU at plus 1 and OSU at minus 2 and they would be out. Talk about stupidly. How do they randomly come up with that numberI heard that which would put JHU at plus 1 and RU at plus 1 and OSU at minus 2 and they would be out. Thx Cali! He's a good kid...loves the game, a lacrosse gym rat so to speak...Happy Easter everyone.
First off, a win in the B1G is a win. I don’t care how you do it.
Was it our best game? No. It had an odd flow, and we were turning it over more than we normally do. I’d like to see more leadership at the end of games from the seniors.
I also tip my hat to Michigan. Watching at field level, it’s very obvious- that team is young, but very talented. Starting next year, I’m telling you right now, they are going to be a player in this conference. I was very impressed with the size, speed, and skill of that team. They have been recruiting very well and you see it. Their 10 man ride is not easy to break. Every team they play had issues with it.
This time of the year, wins are what counts. There are no style points. Senior day, alumni weekend, B1G birth on the line, we did what needed to be done.
House money next week. On a personnel front, what we see AC doing is incredible considering how much he practices. One more year of good health for him and I can’t imagine what he’s going to be doing.
@Golfer2019 met Brennan after the game. Really great kid.

The three goal rule actually benefits JHU completely as they will probably be the three seed because of it and would likely be out if it was based on the full score difference.
Agreed. Who the hell came up with that and why?Ridiculous...goal differential should be GOAL DIFFERENTIAL. Period.
Whenever goal differential is s criteria it is usually capped as to not encourage running up the score.Agreed. Who the hell came up with that and why?
How often is there a chance to run up a score in a conference game in the B1G? As Nuts said, it’s stupid.Whenever goal differential is s criteria it is usually capped as to not encourage running up the score.

3 or 4 goals is actually indicative of a very competitive game. Whoever came up with that number is an idiot3 goals is not a drubbing. I could see maybe 10 if you want to go down that road.
It’s big boy lacrosse not boys rec baseball.
I was thinking along the same lines. You could lose a 3 goal lead in minutes if you lose face offs and the opponent scores quickly. If there is a cap, it needs to be much higher.3 goals is not a drubbing. I could see maybe 10 if you want to go down that road.

Not saying it’s right or wrong or if 3 is the right number, just that going back at least as far as the mid 80’s LI HS lax used goal differential as a tie breaker with a cap. Don’t recall the exact cap at that time. 3 is probably not the right number but putting a cap makes sense for a lot of reasons and it’s not really about sportsmanship so much. As a coach, I would not want to be forced to make a choice of whether to continue to trot out my starters to run up the score in a game that is clearly put away vs. resting my starters and getting younger players some burn. Also, you would want a team to get a massive advantage in goal differential just because they blew out one team that was having a bad day by 15 goals. How often is there a chance to run up a score in a conference game in the B1G? Agree with everything you said. I think most of us think 3 is just really low for a cap.Not saying it’s right or wrong or if 3 is the right number, just that going back at least as far as the mid 80’s LI HS lax used goal differential as a tie breaker with a cap.
